What I Really Want To Say To The New Wave Of Feminism

“You don’t have to be anti-man to be pro-woman," - Jane Galvin Lewis

Why are you hating on men? Men are great! Especially certain parts of men, am I right ladies?

Hear me out before you hate on me for being "anti-feminist." First off, women should not be fighting to be equal to men. If you stick with the point of view that you deserve to be equal to men, you will always be below them. Let me tell you why: men know their worth, and as women, we need to know ours. We are superior to men and always have been. So, why are you screaming to be simply equal?

Know your worth or continue to get walked on. Yes, you may be told you're "hard to deal with," but the best women are the hardest to deal with because they know their worth. Not because they complain on the internet.

Let’s also not ignore the fact that men and women are inherently different. That’s simple biology. There are things women are better at, and things men are better at. You can ignore this all you want but at the end of the day, it’s still a fact.

Being a girl is amazing. I don’t know why we are fighting so hard to be like men when we are women.

Secondly, you want equal pay, girls? Here’s an idea: instead of working for the men who refuse to give you the pay you deserve, go out there and start your own company and make your own money. If a man can do it, so can you. Instead of complaining about the inequalities, put forth effort into changing it. Problem solved.

Here's another little gem for you ladies: you preach that women should be free to look, talk, act, and dress however they like without getting backlash from others, but then shame pretty girls on the internet for posting bikini pictures. It's the definition of hypocrisy.

Feminists will be the first ones to comment on pictures of other women on the internet calling them a slut because #feminism, right?

It’s not up to you to dictate or slut-shame other women just because they have a rockin’ bod they want to show off. They say “stop being a sexual object for men” but isn’t that a woman’s choice to make? Some women actually like to look good, although I know that's a wild concept.

I’m not saying it’s wrong to want certain things, such as equal pay and equal rights when it comes to things such as birth control and the rights to your own body. All I’m saying is that people are taking feminism too far and this is causing more harm than good. The biggest threat to feminism currently isn’t men, it’s your crazy ideas on feminism.

What’s happened is that a bunch of women stole the word feminist and made it into a plight against men, which isn’t what feminism is about. We should all be feminists when it comes to things feminism should actually be about, such as political and social equality, but these extremists really need to stop ruining the word #feminism for the rest of us.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
