Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a superhero? Comic books have a plethora of different powers and abilities, ranging from shrinking yourself to super strength to being made of plastic. You could use the powers for good, evil, your own selfish reasons or just use them when you absolutely need to. When it comes to superpowers the possibilities are endless! Peter Parker’s uncle Ben’s most famous line in comic book history is “With great power comes great responsibility.” Having superpowers should be an honor and used for good. Ever since I started reading comics I have thought about which power I would want to have and how I would use them. The superpower I would want to have is the power of The Speed Force.
The Speed Force isn’t just a superpower it is a source. If I gain the Speed Force I would be able to do a surplus of things to benefit the world like fight crime, save lives and travel. If I was given the powers of the Speed Force, then I would be able to defy physics and run fast enough to stop a robbery and have no one injured or even time travel. I believe if you are given the opportunity to change the world that you should take it. Being able to vibrate fast enough I could phase through solid objects, create wind funnels with my arms or move so fast that no one even notices that I moved are abilities given by the Speed Force. I could use each ability to make a difference in the world by helping others. I would be able to help the fire department extinguish fires and rescue civilians from burning buildings or I could assist the police department by running into a hostile situation and taking out the bad guy before he even can blink. With the Speed Force I would also have the ability of super speed which entails I could run from Florida to California in the matter of hours instead of a three-day trip. I could travel the world and only spend money on food and water making a round trip around the world cheaper and easier to accomplish. Traveling the world and seeing what it has to offer is something most people think about at some point in their life.
The Flash once said “Life doesn’t give us purpose. We give life purpose.” If superpowers became a reality and people were given these powers to change the world, then that would be giving life a reason to keep fighting and moving forward. I believe if I were to receive superpowers, then I would use them to help others and do what I can to make a difference. I would use these powers to give people hope in a world that is losing hope day by day. I would be beyond grateful and excited to be able to use these powers to make a huge impact in this world and a change in the world that I would like to see.
