As a girl, I can attest to the fact that we play mind games and put boys through a series of “tests” to prove themselves worthy of our time.
Girls are confusing, but if you’re a guy, you probably already knew that.
I’ve had guy friends ask me what a girl means when she says XYZ, so here’s a break down of what your girl is actually trying to tell you:
“I’m fine” or “It’s fine”
It is not fine, I repeat IT IS NOT FINE. DO NOT PROCEED.
“Don’t worry about texting me, go have fun with your friends.”
This is like a double-edged sword. On one hand, if you do what she says and don’t text her, she’s going to be angry that you didn’t talk to her for the bulk of time, but on the other hand she could actually mean it. There really isn’t a clear way to tell which one she means.
The solution? Text her occasionally, that way you’re getting the best of both worlds-- and so is she.
"Have fun" (with no emojis or exclamation points)
AKA: "I hope you have an awful time, you should be with me." Just tell her you love her and take her for some food later. She'll forgive you.
“I don’t care” or “It doesn’t matter”
She does care. She actually cares a lot. Unless she’s talking about going somewhere to eat, she probably just can’t make up her mind then. But if she says she doesn’t care, whatever you’re talking about is really bothering her and she wants you to ask and understand why.
"Hellooooooooo?"
AKA: "I saw you comment on your mom's friend's picture of her dog 17 minutes ago when I clearly texted you 56 minutes ago and you haven't responded yet."
“What, babe?”
She heard what you said. She’s just giving you a chance to fix your mistake before she starts WWIII.
"Do you know what's funny?"
The following statement is not going to be funny, at all. This is a trigger warning for you to be prepared for the explosion that is going to follow.
*Silence*
If she’s ignoring you, she’s trying to see how long it’s going to take for you to text her again and she how much you actually want to talk to her.
Girls can be petty-- but boys can be stupid. Tread lightly and don't forget one of the most important things known to mankind.
Food fixes most things, if not everything.
