1. You were selected by accomplished, admirable and proud alumnae, who saw not only a sister in you, but also a pioneer.
2. You get asked, "Oh, is that the new one?" You remind everyone that while your chapter is new, your sorority dates back over a hundred years.
3. You had to work a lot harder than your friends who joined established chapters. No one said it's a free ride from colony to chapter life.
4. You have a twin, but most likely have an unofficial/self-proclaimed big or little as well. Our family trees are a little twisted, but
isn't that more fun, anyways?
5. You are the roots of your family tree. If that doesn't make you proud, I don't know what does.
6. Your actions and those of your sisters mold your sorority's reputation not only on your campus, but also as an international entity in the eyes of your fellow Greeks.
7. There will be times when you feel
like the chapter is ripping at the seams. Relax, Rome wasn't built in a
day, and neither was any working chapter on your campus. Give it time.
8. You realize that you gained over 100 beautiful sisters with thick skin, big hearts, level heads, and a lot of determination.
9. When you come back to campus with your children 20 years down the road, you can show them your sorority house and say.... "I helped put that there."
