Lucas, Peyton, Nathan, Haley and Brooke brought Tree Hill to life for anyone who loved the show, “One Tree Hill.” Although much of the story line was dramatic and not exactly realistic *cue brothers killing brothers, nannies abducting children and obsessive girls who stalk married guys* the five friends taught us lessons that we can all use in life, including:
1. Best friendships can endure anything.
B. Davis and P. Sawyer were best friends through it all: losing moms, fighting off crazy stalkers and even falling in love with the same guy. They proved that even when you fight with your best friend and even hate them at some points, if you have a true friendship, it can survive anything.
2. When you truly love someone, you don’t give up on them.
Nathan and Haley faced challenges from the very beginning of their relationship. Not only was she "tutor girl" and he the basketball star, Haley's best friend was Nathan's estranged brother. But despite that and all their other struggles (Nathan getting involved with a bookie, Haley leaving Nathan behind for a rock tour, Nathan almost ruining his dreams and ending up in a wheelchair, their son getting kidnapped, a supposed love child and losing multiple loved ones), they still managed to find their way back to one another. They always stuck to their "always and forever" mantra because they knew deep down that they were meant to be.
3. No dream is too small to achieve.
All of the Tree Hill crew had big dreams from the time they were in high school: Nathan to play in the NBA, Haley to be a famous musician, Brooke to start a fashion line, Peyton to work in the music industry, Lucas to be a successful author and Mouth to be a sports journalist. Though each one of them faced major challenges in achieving those dreams, and even lost them at some points, they all realized that their dreams were bigger than the challenges it took to get them. And in the end, it was all worth it.
4. Follow your heart, no matter how much your head is in disagreement.
If Lucas taught us anything, it was to always follow your heart. He was tossed between several girls in Tree Hill, but always went back to Peyton. Although they knew that their relationship was complicated and could potentially hurt people they cared about, ultimately, they knew that their hearts led to one another. He also followed his heart in other parts of his life, always making him the guy who was there for the people he cared about.
