While ladies may take the cake when it comes to overly planning their outfit for the right, men do it too. It may not be as obvious because we do it in a much more subtle way.
How do I know what type of impression he is trying to give me? I'm glad you asked.
Basketball shorts and a tank top.
When a guy wears this, it means he is not overly concerned about how the night is going to play out. He doesn't really care. He could just be trying to show off his muscles, which means that he is not worth your time either. He could also be stopping by to pick up his friend who is too drunk to leave by himself. In either scenario, it is not worth pursuing.
Jeans and anything.
If he's wearing jeans, he has some sort of reason to not want to engage in any type of activity with women. He could be gay, have an STD, really sad about a girl who just broke up with him, or all of the above. He could also be really Southern and not believe in anything besides wearing jeans. Proceed with caution.
Cargo shorts and a tight shirt.
Well, you must be really desperate if you try to pursue this guy. This guy is stuck in high school. He has no sense of style and defends his outfit with, "Trust me dude, this outfit has pulled me so many chicks back in my day." Back is his day? Bro, we were all there. It's called high school.
Flat-front shorts and a well-fitted T-shirt.
He's in college and knows how to dress. This outfit will guarantee you at least a conversation with a woman as long as you know how to talk to them. There's the problem though. He's wearing this outfit because he's not very good at talking to women, so he's hoping to compensate by showing a little skin. That's fine, just don't go into the bar with high expectations.
Khaki pants and a polo.
As long as the polo is not Aeropostale or American Eagle, this guy has something that most men lack when approaching women: confidence. He doesn't need to show off everything he's got in order to win over a girl. Granted, the polo might have the tattoo he got when he was 17 poking out of it but, hey, it could be worse.
Pants and a long-sleeve button down.
This guy came with one objective and one objective only: pursuing the hottest girl in the bar. Why else would he dress like that? To look professional? This isn't a presentation for your history class, it's a bar. I can honestly say that this is the best outfit for a guy to wear out only because it shows maturity.
A short-sleeved button down.
You're a tool. Plain and simple.
A suit.
Dude, really? He's wearing this because he's well known around campus. Possibly the President of a fraternity. Could you save some women for us, maybe?
Some of you that know me might be saying, "But Kyle, I hardly see you wear anything besides a tank top." Well, you're right, and that's because I fit in with a rare demographic of men who don't really care what women think because in the end, it doesn't even matter. Yes, that was a "Linkin Park" quote.
With that being said, I hope this helps when deciding which men to pursue. I am an amateur expert in judging, so you should take my word.
