In my opinion, "South Park" is one more of the best antimatter cartoon shows on TV today. The series airs exclusively through the station Comedy Central. What about "South Park" makes it so great? Obviously, "South Park" has stood the test of time by remaining relevant and keeping fans wanting more. Just the other day, South Park aired the first episode of its twentieth season. Beyond all the cruel jokes and hilarious episodes, there is a deeper meaning to "South Park." "South Park" does what seems impossible for other comedy shows and even the media. The show remains completely neutral and unbiased during their episodes.
If you have ever watched "South Park," you know first hand just how fast they create episodes to reflect current events in both politics and the word in general. With such a tense presidential election amongst us, it is nice to see a popular TV show remain neutral and make fun of both sides in an equal manner. This very theme is what keeps "South Park" so great and so relevant. Yes, the jokes are intense and not for young children, but if you look past the jokes you can see exactly the message "South Park" is feeding its audience. "South Park" has had nineteen successful seasons filled with extreme jokes of all kinds poking fun at anything you can think of, specifically current events. However, the reoccurring theme is that "South Park" won't pick a side. They will make fun of Donald trump just as much as they make fun of Hillary Clinton. They will make black jokes just as much as they make white jokes. "South Park" will make fun of Judaism just as much as they make fun of Christianity. This is very unique, especially in the modern TV culture we have all become accustomed too. It seems as though when you watch a program today, whether it be a tv show or a media platform, knowing that it is a one sided approach to whatever is the topic of the day.
"South Park" remains one of few unbiased TV programs that still airs today. It may poke fun at something you agree with, but the difference is you can count on them to make fun of the opposing view as well. As funny as it sounds, "South Park" does a better job delivering an unbiased approach towards politics than any major media outlet on cable TV today. Of course, "South Park" doesn't plan on being a news show in any means. The very fact that time and time again they do it better is the issue of the modern media. This is what keeps "South Park" so great and so relevant today. Plus, "South Park" is hysterical. It's the perfect mend between jokes based on current events and absolute nonsense. "South Park" may not be for everyone, but one must respect how long they have remained relevant and most importantly, the way they go about writing their show.
