How To Continue Life Even When You're Dead

What is Vulture Culture?

You may have heard of necromancy, the power to bring life back from the dead. Some may argue that it's impossible to bring back the deceased, but in my line of work there is a way to do something along those lines. To be close to death is to understand life. When you find yourself becoming used to the stench of rotted flesh, the consistency of each putrid fluid involved, you will have one of two feelings. You'll find yourself more free than you've ever been, buzzing and connected to other worlds. Or you will fear what you find deep inside of you and you'll run far away to your precious light. Someone once told me i should embrace the darkness.

Life is one of the most beautiful things imaginable, visible within all of our earths' creations. Trees, flowers, Animals and insects: They all have their place in our ecosystem as part of the cycle of life. We all learn the basic cycle of life in elementary biology. Though each type of life experiences the cycle differently, death is always going to be inevitable. Whether it's a plant who starts as a little seed, sprouts and grows until it can release seeds of it's own before the seasons eradication. How babies are born, grow into adults to elderly, then they too return to the earth. Some types of moths live most of their lives in the caterpillar stage, and once they hatch from the cocoon, they live for a week or so, long enough to mate, lay eggs and pollinate a few plants. As you can tell, the reoccurring pattern is that even though death is a permanent part of the cycle, life or rebirth will never cease to follow.

I was 6 years old, and on my way to school early in the morning with my mom. Usually i rode the bus, but for some reason that i can't recall, she was talking me. My Kentucky elementary school was in a rural location, surrounded by acres of farm land, trees and even a pond. A very beautiful little place. It required that you take country roads to get there from town, on which i had my first experience with roadkill.

I remember it was foggy and dim, the sun was barely up and trees formed a canopy as they lined the road. The line of oaks were coming to an end on the left side where a grassy field began. I used to always sit and stare out the window at the beauty of the world, and in my eyes at that age it was all so pure. That's when out of nowhere, a sizable robin swooped down, just a little too low unfortunately.. next was a thud trailed by the screeching of tires. My mom, an animal lover, pulled over the car as i sat trying to comprehend what had happened. A bird, a creature dear to me had been struck by the very vehicle i was in. My heart wept for her. Mom and I flattened a patch of the knee high grass in the field next to the road. We laid the robin to rest and i placed some wild flowers atop.

All i could think about all day was that i was there when that bird died. How wrong it was for it to die that way. How i wished so much i could bring it back to life.

Three years later, i'm on a family camping trip with my mom, step dad, and my brother. Camping was always one of my favorite things to do as a family. We were set up on a hill with a lake below. My brother being two years younger than me, neither of us would be assisting our parents in setting up camp, so it was up to us to explore the surrounding area. We made our way down the little gravel trail to a decent size lake with a shallow shore. Large rocks made up the water line with small water eroded stones scattered about. Ethan and I followed the lakefront for a short time before we came across a lifeless bluegil outside the water. I felt the brief twinge of pain for that fish for losing it's life, but then i remembered the robin.

I went and grabbed the biggest leaf i could find and used it to pick up the fish, i placed him on a big rock and instinctively Ethan and me began to honor this small bluegil. A circle of stones kept his soul safe, leaves, twigs and greenery laid upon the corpse to bring the beauty of life back.

Now i'm thirteen and i've got a collection of butterflies that i somehow come across quite often, whether it be on my walks to the library or hiking at the falls these natural beauties always find themselves perpendicular to my path. To preserve the natural beauty of these angel winged insects is to instill a part of it's life forever.

Furthurmore, animals possess powers we as humans don't. Each one with different strengths. A deer is swift yet graceful. Hawks have a sharp eye, and wolves fierce teeth. The claw of a raven carries strength and protection. For nature has have given and taken these things back to the earth for centuries- and to me, for as many lives as i can remember and with them comes the wisdom and power they behold. Working with blood and bones brings forth the underlying primal beast within.

For me to work with this Earth, i must incorporate all of my cohabitants. It's important to me that the death of any creature i work with was not at my hand. I naturally find all of my bones, sometimes full carcasses and remains. I personally do not eat meat, but for those who do- that is another way to incorporate the power of the beast. You really are what you eat in that sense, thanks to sympathetic magic.

Not all of the animals i come across permit me to use their remains- but instead ask for a respectful wake. To disrespect the wishes of the dead is asking for the wrath of the spirits. To ask permission is not a difficult task, you can outloud or telepathically~ you will recieve a response. Follow your instinct.

To be able to do what i do you must have a strong stomach. People question my love for animals because i'm able to take a blade to them after death. To disembowel them, but i assure you it is with the utmost care. I preserve the organs of the animals who come to me in their afterlife. Their soul does not reside in the body, though it's essence will be forever imprinted in the patterns that make up the very foundation of this universe.

Each piece of an animal can be utilized for a variety of functions.

Blood is one of the most powerful tools we physically have as living beings. Blood flows through your body bound to your literal life, it is the force that keeps your heart pumping.

Crimson and usually cold, the coppery scent slipping it's way up my nose, i'm spilling blood onto the ground to portray the tie that it holds to life, we come into this world in blood and we leave when the flow of the red water of life merges again with earth. spirits will rise up and devour your gracious gift. Human blood would be considered a delicacy.

Binding, protection, cleansing, energy enhancement, are just a few examples of the capacity that is within the blood of all living creatures. I use blood very cautiously in my craft because to underestimate the potential is perilous.

Bones, whether naturally stained or delicately cleaned in water and peroxide to the perfect shade of white, they are never going to cease to be a direct link to said animals spirit. They can act as a walkway between planes, a bridge into new realms. Bones make well for wands and amulets, adorned with sigils or runes. You can charm a bone and not worry of your magic fading for the dead will not tire.

Skulls are a universal symbol of consiousness and wisdom. They are protectors of the brain. I personally feel connected to skulls more so than any other bone, though i do not discriminate. I feel an overwhelming sense of security under watch of a horned skull. Feet and claws can be used to walk in the steps of a creature, to shift into its form if worn around your neck. Use the sharpest nail of a fearsome creature to slice apart an enemies life. Teeth are naturally used as a defense tool on top of being able to provide method of feeding. To have bigger teeth is to be predator over prey.

Even further i'd like to talk about eyes, tongues, hearts and feathers. Nothing goes to waste in my practice.

Preserve the eyes of an animal to see what other could never, to see different perspectives of what reality is, to enhance clairvoyancy with specific attributes dependnig on the animal. Eyeballs are perfect "cloaks" persay, because having an eyeball is being able to see through veils or to blind prying eyes. A tongue, to sweeten your speech or to slaughter someone's communications skills. Tongues hold to capability to open communication between species. A hearts are the holder of passion and some believe the soul resides there. Endless power lies within the heart of a once living creature. To preserve a heart is to cheat death, and to penatrate would be to let the wicked outside creep in. Feathers always represent air to me, which is heavy in my natal chart. The flutter of feathers can cleanse the air and invite spirits in and again to wave them away.

We have so much to learn by simply paying attention to things a little more closely. It's true that things aren't what they appear to be on the outside.

This article is a summary of the events in my life that led up to who i am and the reasons behind what i do today. I share this information for anyone who may be able to relate in any way. Maybe to enlighten and broaden the perspective of those who do not relate.

So much wisdom lies within the creatures of our realm, and we must seize the knowledge and take it as it's given. You've heard of necromancy, the power to bring life back from the dead. Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

An open letter to the good-hearted people.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
