What is Serengetee?
Well, admittedly, it kind of sounds like the type of special you’d find at an Italian restaurant. However, I’ve had a hard time finding another company I want to be associated with that isn’t Serengetee.
You might’ve seen their infamous ‘pocket shirts’ around campus or around town. The company really began to pick up speed after their first collaboration with television actor and musician Tyler Posey, also known as Scott McCall from MTV’s Teen Wolf.
Serengetee works by offering tons of fabric patterns for those pocket shirts (tee shirts, tank tops, sweatshirts and even accessories!) and each fabric is made from a different artisan around the world.
The company lets the customer shop for their fabric choice by choosing either the region they’d like to support or by product.
And, let me tell you — their product choices are insane for a company that custom makes every article of clothing that they sell.
A look at their website will tell you that they sell different types of tee shirts (v neck, crewneck, racerback tanks), as well as hats, backpacks and even flags perfect to hang up on the walls of your new dorm room.
What got me into the company in the first place? The fact that these fabrics come from artisans all over the world, which are then sewn in the United States to create the custom piece you order. Serengetee also gives back 10% of its profits to the different charities and causes which is explained by the ‘passport’ that comes with the product you purchase. Included in this passport is a description of the fabric and the story behind it, incorporating the original artisan who created that fabric.
Jeff and Ryan are also pretty cool to work with.
Serengetee offers a rep position throughout the year for college and high school students alike. Some of the perks from their rep programs include discounts on gear for your time as a rep. Then, extended through their Alumni program, the ability to begin practicing your marketing and advertising techniques and skills around your school, and at the end of each term there's a lucky representative chosen to go on their Guatemala trip.
Sounds too good, right? You can begin sending your applications through this link.
