What I'm Thankful For This Thanksgiving
Serious Eats

Every Thanksgiving I try to think about what I'm thankful for. 2016 has been a whirlwind of a year and this year I'm extremely grateful for a couple of things which have helped me find who I am.

1. Struggles

I'm thankful for struggles. Without struggles I would never have found my strength.
I would never have found my true friends. I would have never found my standards or morals. I would have never found who I am. There wouldn't be good without the bad and I'm thankful for all of my struggles for teaching me that.

2. Friends
I am thankful for my true friends. I am thankful for the ones who are there for me through the good and the bad. The ups and the downs. The ones I can call in a heart beat for support and a reason to keep holding on. I'm so lucky to be able to have people like that.

3. Elon
I am thankful for my college. For the challenging courses that make me stay up late studying every night. For the courses that test my strength. And for the professors that teach me to work harder because they believe that I can.

4. Kappa Delta
I'm thankful for my sorority, Kappa Delta. For giving me a reason to stay at my dream school. For showing me what a true friend is and what a loyal friend is. For giving me endless support through the ups and the downs.

5. Family

I'm so very grateful to have a family that believes in me and supports me for everything I do. A family that works hard to see me live the best life that I can. A family that only wants the best for me. A family that loves me endlessly.

Most of all I'm thankful for everyone who has believed in me.

I'm so very thankful.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
