Not in anyway is putting others before yourself at times something that should be considered "bad." But, if you're anything like myself, you do it too often, leading you to usually forget that your happiness at the end of the day is what truly matters. So, what exactly happens when you decide to change it up and decide to take care of yourself and your emotions before others?
1) You do what makes yourself happy for once. I forgot, i actually enjoy these things.
2.) You become less stressed. Wow, this is what life is like?
3.) You spend less time worrying about pleasing everyone around you. Sorry girl, but you're opinion doesn't matter.
4.) You spend more time actually enjoying the little things.
There are so many more things that happen when you decide to actually take care of yourself. But, what can be learned from deciding to take time to focus on yourself, and not your friends or even boyfriend/girlfriend, you'll notice how important actually focusing on not only your happiness, but the things in life that you enjoy have a major impact on your mood and how you view yourself.
Maybe you haven't realized quite yet that you tend to put yourself last when it comes to your friends/boyfriend/girlfriend. Here's an easy way to figure it out: when you start changing your ways in order to fit someone else's lifestyle or constantly putting your time and energy into making someone happy that it conflicts with your own happiness.
Your happiness matters the most, so stop putting all of your energy into other people already. Trust me, you'll feel 1,000 times better once you decide to spend the time focusing on yourself instead.
