It's finally here, it's the holiday season and Thanksgiving is right about the corner. To be honest I am not very fond of Thanksgiving food, but Thanksgiving is a great time to stop and think about all the things in life you are blessed with and grateful for. Sometimes, throughout life we get so consumed with what we are doing and to all the great things and great people we have, that we forget how good we have it.

First, I want to thank my family, blood and not, the ones that have been there for me from the beginning and never left. Thanksgiving is about family, and your close family friends that you love and consider to be family. For me, my family means the world to me as well as my few friends who I consider to be family. It is so important to remember all of the people who are there for you no matter what and to cherish them every day. Sometimes we are so used to having these great people in your life that we tend to forget all they really do for us. It is important to take some time to remember how lucky we are and to let those people know how grateful we are to have them in our lives.

I am currently a freshmen in college and honestly I am so grateful to have the opportunity to go to college to further my education and make something out of my life. College is seen as a necessity to get any decent job with decent pay unless you plan on working a minimum wage job for the rest of your life, but personally I want a job that is not just a job, but a career. There's a saying that if you do it right, you never have to work a day in your life. It is one of my goals in life to have a career I love so much it never feels like a job. I am so thankful that I have the opportunity to be able to gain a life long career by going to college.

I am thankful that I have a roof over my head and food to eat. As simple as that, there are people in other countries as well as other families in America in poverty that are homeless or cannot afford food. I am grateful that I am blessed to have the privilege of having a roof over my head in a house that keeps me warm and the ability to have food so easily as I do.

There are many things to be thankful for and you should always think of 1 thing you are thankful for each day because it can remind you of watch you have and it can also make you feel better of your life. It enables you to allow positivity into your life. I am thankful for my family, my friends, my education, my home, and food.

What are you thankful for?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
