They stretch far beyond a general definition.

What Being "Sisters" Really Means

With sororities comes stereotypes, and as always, one of the biggest ones revolves around becoming "sisters" with over 100 girls. How can you possibly become best friends with that many people, enough to call them your sisters?? What many people don't know is what being sisters really means.

1. You have an unlimited closet. Literally, you never have to hit the mall again; your shopping is just down the hallway.

2. There's always someone looking out for you. Whether it's at a party or just hanging out, there's already a hundred girls who care about your wellbeing and are willing to do anything to make sure you're safe and having a good time.

3. There's always someone down to order delivery food. Nudesushi, cheesy sticks, Indian food, pizza, you name it, and there's always someone who wants to pitch.

4. You become introduced to endless amounts of activities, big or small. Everyone of your sisters is involved in something and loves to spread the word! From IM sports teams to jobs and internships, you can make many connections through your sorority sisters and always learn something new.

5.You always have someone to help take care of you when tissues, Sudafed and cuddling in bed with Netflix for a couple days no longer suffices.

6.You now have over 100 homes in different places around the world. From Miami to Seattle to Kansas, and maybe even abroad, a vacation is just around the corner!

7. You have support in everything you do. Watching one of your dance performances or helping you study, your sisters love to support each other, especially regarding academics. We're set up with mentors with similar interests to help guide us in the right path.

8. Pictures with your sisters are always on fleek.

9. Someone has already beat you to your reservation of TV room for the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show ... and they've come prepared with ice cream, snacks, and tissues while you cry out of jealousy.

10. You have 100 shoulders to cry on and 100 amazing women to mend a broken heart. Boys are stupid and your sisters will be there to have your back for the rest of your lives.

11. Even if you haven't had a full conversation with each and every sorority sis, you share a deep connection that makes it easily feel as if you've been friends forever.

12. You're surrounded by inspiration ... so many talented, beautiful, amazing girls that you call your sisters. It's truly jaw dropping how awesome everyone is.

13.Sleepovers with your best friends all the damn time.

There is much much more, but all in all, some people just won't understand how far beyond the definitions your sisters truly are. <3

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
