Even When The Tigers Lose, They Win.

Being a tiger stretches far beyond a scoreboard.

Even When The Tigers Lose, They Win.

For the last two Saturdays in a row, LSU fans have been faced with defeat and disappointment. We took two hard losses one of them on our own stomping grounds. While it is discouraging see our winning streak come to a startling halt, and to watch our team quickly drop from the #2 spot in college football rankings to #20, I am still proud to be a Tiger. Being a tiger stretches far beyond a scoreboard, and I will always #LovePurpleLiveGold.

The spirit of our student section is unparalleled.

Our student section never fails to show team spirit for our Tigers; but this weekend, we also showed support for our fellow humans. In response to the tragedy which stuck Paris, member of the LSU student body painted “Pray For Paris” across their chests, displaying the true and compassionate heart of our university.

We love our country and the heroes who have served to protect it.

This weekend, The LSU Golden Band, Golden girls and Color Guard gave an amazing half-time show, honoring all branches of the U.S. armed forces in the commemoration of Veteran's Day. LSU certainly knows how to give honor where honor is due and I am proud to attend such a patriotic university.

We are hilarious.

This weekend, the entire student section was given Fournette masks, complete with braces and a voluptuous beard. Brilliant.

Our hype is too real.

"It is a pantheon of concrete and steel

It is a city that rises defiantly in the delta alongside the father of waters

It is the humidity of autumn evenings that drapes stately oaks and broad magnolias

It is haunted ... and it is loud.

It is Halloween night & Cannon blasts

It is a Louisiana gumbo of humanity that cheers its Tigers to victory & destroys the dreams of invading foes

Chance of rain is ... never!

It is the cathedral of college football & worship happens here

When the sun finds its home in the western sky it is a field of glory for sure ...

But much more than that it is a sacred place

And it is Saturday night in Death Valley"

These are the sacred words splashed across the jumbotrons before each home game. These words inspire fear in any enemy, and spur pride in the hearts of all Tiger fans. Complete with fireworks and a roaring sea purple and gold, our pre-game hype is matched by none.

You don't know how to tailgate unless you go to LSU.

Blaring music, 100,000 people, over sized pots of gumbo and jambalaya, cowboy boots, beer galore, purple and gold everything, family, friends, games of cornhole, flying footballs, hamburgers on the grill, TVs in every tent, smiles on every face, memories being made and victory in the air. What more could you possibly want?

When you are a student at LSU, you win, regardless of the score. Our compassion, unity and ties to tradition will always have our school ranked #1 in my heart.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Whether you met your new love interest online, through mutual friends, or another way entirely, you'll definitely want to know what you're getting into. I mean, really, what's the point in entering a relationship with someone if you don't know whether or not you're compatible on a very basic level?

Consider these 21 questions to ask in the talking stage when getting to know that new guy or girl you just started talking to:

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
