There are probably a million and one different articles about stress and anxiety, but take it from a person affected by it on the daily.

Here are some ways to de-stress yourself when you're extremely flustered.

1. Meditate

Sometimes just stepping back and relaxing are the best ways to clear yourself from any stress. Step back, take a break and clear your mind. When you feel ready, slowly take yourself step by step back into reality.

2. Even your breathing

When you're stressed out, your breathing tends to get erratic. Just close your eyes and take some deep breaths.

3. Drink less coffee.

I hate this one as much as the next person, but, scientifically, coffee speeds up your heart rate. This is another symptom of being stressed out (raised heart rate). By drinking less coffee, your heart rate won't spike up as much.

4. Read a book.

Reading a good or your favorite book can release a hormone in your brain called oxycontin and give you have happier feelings.

5. When you feel good, it's a good time for celebrating, right?

When you're feeling down on yourself, a little cheat here and there is really good for you. Release those good hormones and feel good again.

These are some of the ways I de-stress. I hope they work out for you, too.
