So you've received a compliment. You maybe feel that you are undeserving or too insecure to accept this compliment and now you don't know what to do. This article isn't meant to help you get over these insecurities because that would be too hard. Instead, here are 7 ways to successfully dodge a compliment without falling over your words and embarrassing yourself.

1. Be bashful.

Being bashful is fairly easy and very effective. Simply choose from the selection of squirming, looking down, and saying things like "awwww," "geeee," or even "nooooo." With this technique you are acknowledging that a compliment was given, but you've also distracted the compliment giver from realizing that you never accepted what was said. Nice.

2. Debate.

Put on your strong face and get ready to bluntly disagree. After the compliment is given just say (and this is important) "hmm, debatable." You can either go on and give facts on why, or stop it at that, leaving them to think you were just being playful and have a sense of humor. Either way you fooled them and never accepted those kind, but misplaced, words. They never saw it coming.

3. Research.

Observe what traits you are usually complimented on, then research famous people who are clearly more of that trait than you are. You'll be ready for anything.

"Hey your hair looks really nice today!"

"Um have you heard of Rapunzel??! Her hair is better."

"That was a really good speech great job."

"Clearly you've never heard of Abraham Lincoln, he was a much better speaker"

"Hey you may have fallen down the stairs just now but you did it very elegantly."

"Try Stuart F. Wilson: Famous Stuntman who gets paid to fall down stairs."

5. Act coy.

Give the person a knowing smile. Nod to yourself as if you've just solidified something in your mind about that person. Scribble something down or cross something off on a notepad. If you can, tear out the piece of paper and give it to a raven to fly off with it. Be obvious enough that they will watch what you're doing but look as if you're trying to be secretive. You are mysterious and wonderful. You will take no compliment. They will be so confused and put off they might never compliment you again. Good job, you mystical creature.

6. Attack them on the spot.

This technique is the most effective but also permanent, so be careful about choosing when to use it. After a compliment has been sent towards you, simply leap up and unleash your wrath upon them for daring to make you feel like a better person. you may want to leave after wards because the people around you may judge and that won't help your already existing insecurities. This is also great cardio so good for you.

7. Redirect the compliment.

Redirect the compliment you've just been given and compliment someone else. This technique is very easy and can be used multiple times if you keep getting compliments. However this will only work if there are many people you like in the general area; or if you're really good at being fake.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
