They say to buy a reusable water bottle to be more sustainable, but I probably end up doing more harm than good with the amount I have purchased (and borrowed from my roommates). Does this happen to anyone else? You make sure to take your water bottle from your room and realize at some point throughout your day that you do not have it anymore? It could be anywhere at that point and basically just give up looking for it. What is it about water bottles that make them so easy to lose? Do I need to buy a $100 one just so I take extra care of it? That’s probably not even half of what I’ve spent on them since my freshman year.
Where do you go? Do you run away from me when I’m not looking? If so, that’s not cool. Is there anyone who steals them for fun? That’s just mean. But seriously, it is so weird. I will be going to get ready to play basketball or something, and when I need it most, it is not there. I quickly run through all the possible places it can be before I accept that my beloved bottle has vanished. My Contigo is no longer Conmigo.
Water bottle companies need to have an app where you can track your bottle. It would save me a lot of time, money and trouble. Would you buy that product? Or am I the only one who faces this issue on a relatively constant basis? They don’t even last a week with me! Maybe I should get one of those hats with the cup holders and straws. That way I wouldn’t have to struggle when it came to those dire moments. And I could even wear it while I play basketball; it would be a major advantage over the other team to be able to quench my thirst while playing. Maybe we’ll actually make intramural playoffs. Big things can happen.
Water bottles are supposed to be a sustainable thing, but what if I buy one every other week? Does that defeat the purpose? It probably does, and environmentalists would probably appreciate it if I just went back to the plastic cups or plastic bottles. Funny, I never forget my phone anywhere because that is a necessity. Water? What's that?
I am trying to figure out if all my water bottles are in contact with one another, conspiring against me for all the neglect I have given them. I would not be surprised, honestly. Somewhere along the road, I must have thrown them to the ground harder than they liked or filled them with something like soda. Probably didn’t appreciate that too much.
Well, my old friends, if you ever get the chance to read this, I want you to know that I am sorry and would love for you all to come back to me -- all 200 of you. Otherwise, it was nice knowing you, and I am guilt stricken that our one-week friendship could not have been longer.
