Watching What Passes

Do you see that which comes to pass?

Watching What Passes
The Jimmies Lord

Across the grand existence of the universe we have to ask ourselves, are we bearing witness?

Are we privy to that which comes to pass?

Doesn't the media keep us informed? The media merely teaches us their own perceptions and inherently it is because they will benefit when we have adopted their perceptions.

What is most important is that we develop our own perceptions. That when people hand us truths, we realize that these are only subjective truths.

This means that in any realm, be it religion or philosophy, that what you learn from others is their interpretation of the matter.

This is important to keep in mind because others like to present you ideas like they understand all of it.

It is also unwise to completely ignore others whose intention is to explain how they understand things.

How does this relate to bearing witness? We need to be aware of all aspects of the existence of an idea. It is important not to hold on to the idea or you become stuck.

When we get stuck in our ideas, we are stuck in mindset that this thing must be this way. This puts us in great opposition to change. This also puts us in denial.

When we are so certain that things are certain way, then we become blind to the real way that things are. That way is simply the way that they are, the inner nature in which allows it to exist.

There's so much in the world that it's hard to see the true nature of anything. But if we want to stop living in a false and hypocritical society this is what we must strive for.

We must bear witness to the passing of things, being aware of what happens, the root causes of what happens and so forth.

Doing things in this way allows us to become aware, truly aware of all the things that surround us in this world. This is inherently becoming one with understanding, because this is how you combat ignorance.

The very statement seems to be paradoxical, because how can I be telling you how to combat ignorance, isn't there being a single way to fight ignorance, ignorant?

Perhaps, but beyond these words lies an idea, regardless of what I'm saying I'm trying to explain an idea. That idea is the very way that we understand ideas.

This is why I say, that we must be privy to it, privy to all things and the way in which they exist.

All of the great ones who have come to pass indirectly touch on this idea, for it is what the world must understand if it is to move forward. Otherwise it will continue in a spiraling circle of death and despair.

To be free, truly free, is to realize that of which I speak, otherwise you are chained down to lies and a world which tells you nothing but lies. It is your choice to be free, and should you choose not to be free, you are hurting us all.

So just do it!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
