'YOU' Really Need To See This

My review on Netflix's original series.

Watching Netflix on couch

Second semester is in full swing, and as much as I want to get back on track with getting ahead in all of my classes and turning in my best work, I always have a soft spot for Netflix. I simply can't resist my favorite shows and many can agree it is so hard to start a new show. Netflix is like a relationship: It's around the clock attention and you feel inclined to stick to one show at a time! if you are just finishing up your latest watch on Netflix and considering starting the original hit, "YOU," here are my pros and cons after watching this series!

Just a quick disclaimer: some clues and facts are revealed. Read with caution!

The cast

Before even starting this series, I was very familiar with the stalker, better known as Dan Humfrey from "Gossip Girl."I am a huge fan of the show, but never really was a fan of Mr. Humphrey, but he plays the creepy role very well. Honestly, after watching "YOU," It made me dislike him even more, so he definitely did the role's justice. This speaks volumes when watching a horror series. I am personally not a fan of series movies specifically because of the acting. If they can't convince me that they are a stalker, I really can't get into the story, but this show always had me on my toes! The rest of the cast between Peach — also seen on "Pretty Little Liars" — and John Stamos as the therapist was a cherry on top and it was nice to see some recognizable actors play such roles.

Girl... get some curtains!

Everything seemed realistic on the process of Joe analyzing her every move from the book store encounter, to stealing her phone, But the bare windows on the one-floor apartment... COME ON, BECK! The average person would think if you live alone, in the big apple, privacy is key not to being safe, not to mention, do you know how to lock a door? The fact that Joe could walk right into her apartment was just irresponsible and careless. This is the only detail I couldn't believe and wonder would he still stalk her if she had curtains?

I do commend the screenwriter for narrating the show through Joe's conscious, allowing the viewer to see how his brain works, it's clever and really risky. I like how he explained the ways he was going to learn everything about Beck and makes me really think that stalkers could really do this and make me more aware about the importance of being safe, ESPECIALLY ON SOCIAL MEDIA!

Benji: gone too soon?

Maybe I missed something, but after he died, didn't any of his family members, co-workers, wonder where he was? If you are about to go on an Interview with a big company, wouldn't you at least Google the person or already recognize him? I just find the whole encounter very odd and impossible, especially after Joe was bringing him into a dark alley-like dump.

The key!

Between Benji and Beck, didn't either of them tries to find a way out? It's pretty risky on Joe's part to put such an escape mechanism, I would just think they would be more clever. And when it comes to Beck escaping the enclosed library and capturing Joe... WOULDN'T YOU TAKE THE KEYS OUT OF THE DOOR AND RUN? Sweetheart, you can get revenge once he Is in jail. Other than that, when she was screaming for the little boy to open the door and rescue her from the basement, wouldn't anyone in the store hear her? Moral of the story is if you can't deal with stupidity, this will stump you a little.

Predictions for the second season

There are many deaths in the show and a special surprise arrives at the doorstep at the end of season two. Will there be another it girl? What does the special surprise want? Will Joe get caught? I really find it hard for this show to continue if he keeps killing people. The investigator on the case I feel will be a key role in ending Joe's stalking hunt, but It will take some time! In the second season, I hope we learn more about Joe's past and wonder if he will ever settle down with his beloved?

Moral of the story is...

I recommend this series. It keeps you on our toes, granted I finished it in one day. They are a decent length and only ten episodes are available. So the next time you want to take a break from homework, see inside of the mind of a stalker through his journey for finding love!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
