I hate politics. I hate how they bring out the worst in people. I hate the judgment behind it. I hate how every single word and action is scrutinized to the max. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. Unfortunately, it is the way of our country and I’m terrified of what it might become. I’m scared, scared to the point in which I’m discarding my hatred of politics and speaking my mind. This, this is how I plan to impact this country beyond my one lonely vote.
Donald Trump. The name strikes abhorrence in the eyes of Americans, and I don’t blame them. He says a lot of stupid stuff: build a wall, kick them out, crooked Hillary. The list of irrational statements this businessman makes goes on forever, shocking the masses with their stupidity. However, it was in an interview with his newly chosen running mate, Mike Pence, that I first thought more about his message and less about his words.
During the interview, Pence was asked about Trump's mudslinging and, as typical politicians do, he answered the question without really answering the question. Then, Trump chimed in and said something that got me thinking. He said that Pence may not name call like himself but, he will provide evidence, facts, and reasoning as to why Hillary is “crooked.” However, Trump will simply say “Crooked Hillary.” This made so much sense to me. Rather than continuously go over the reasons as to why his opponent is horrible, he simply states them one time and shortens his mudslinging to name calling. I guess you could say this saves time, allowing more time to attend to ‘real’ matters. I still think it’s childish, but in the end, he’s just saying everything each politician won’t outwardly say. He’s speaking his true, honest, and unbiased opinion.
His stupid wall idea is criticized constantly, but all he wants is for the illegal immigrants from Mexico and other countries to stop reaping the benefits of our generous government without putting anything forth, without paying taxes. I don’t agree that we should put up a wall, but think about how much our economy would benefit if everyone that was using it was also paying for it. Trump doesn’t hate foreigners. He hates the idea of being taken advantage of. He is a businessman that refuses to let America get screwed over because we’re too nice.
I can’t say I’ve studied all the issues, or I’m a Republican, or that I’m even going to vote for Donald Trump but, I’m sick and tired of people complaining about Trump's stupid words. Listen to his message. He’s a businessman and will run our country so. He will create jobs; he’s done so before. He will give businesses a tax break, but in all honesty, I think that’s good -- more money for businesses to hire more employees. Trump isn’t my favorite candidate, but he’s someone that will do something and that’s what our country needs: someone that will do something.
