As a student, I have only taken the time to get to know one side of Tallahassee: the college scene. Football games, Madso, and Stroz are a pretty spot-on representation of the scope of my exploration of what Tallahassee has to offer. I am sure many of you can relate.

And, like many of you, I don't plan on living in Tallahassee past graduation. Meaning the precious time you have to do and see the things that give Tallahassee its character should be used to the fullest.

So, for all you guys hanging out in Tally for the summer hoping to branch out from your usual, this one's for you.

Coming straight from a true Tallahassee native, here is a bucket list of places to go in and around Tally that are truly one of a kind!

1.Goodwood Plantation

A Tallahassee gem and antebellum era plantation, Goodwood is an unparalleled experience. In virtually the same condition in began in back in the 1830s, Goodwood is a blast from the past. Just walk in and receive a tour of this illustrious home.

Plus, it is a free excursion! All you need to pay is whatever you can afford to throw in the donation box.

2.Bradley's Country Store

Established back in the 1920s, Bradley's Country Store is known for its country sausage and its strong family tradition. Of course, it offers goods like hogshead cheese and milled grits that are true southern mainstays.

Bradley's prides itself on preserving an authentic rustic faƧade, true to the sentiment it was founded on.

Like many places in Tallahassee, Bradley's Country Store is one of a kind. You won't find anything else quite like it anywhere. So, be sure to give it a visit while you're in town!

3.Farmer's Daughter Vineyards

Maybe you've made that iconic visit to Thomasville, Georgia, and maybe you haven't. Either way, Farmer's Daughter Vineyards offers wine tastings of its amazing Georgia-grown wines for an affordable price. This stop is made even better with cheese plates, Georgia chocolate, and macaroons!

Plus, Farmer's Daughter Vineyards makes a visit a truly immersive experience with live music, vineyard tours, private events, and paint nights!

4.Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park

In one word: scenic. The Maclay Gardens are a mainstay of any Tallahassee bucket list and many of you have probably checked this one off.

And, what with the classic Instagram post of the "reflection pool vista" that you've 100% seen but never realized where it was taken, it's about time you saw what all the fuss is about!

For one, it's just another gem to add to your Thomasville day trip.

For another, you can finally post that

5.Pebble Hill Plantation

Another Thomasville, Georgia favorite, Pebble Hill Plantation is beautiful and family oriented. So, no matter who you go with, whether alone, with a friend, or with visiting family members, Pebble Hill has a little something for everyone.

6.Tallahassee Automobile Museum

Featuring a Batmobile exhibit, some of the first cars ever made in the US, historic boats, Abraham Lincoln's hearse, and many more legendary and awe-inspiring antique cars, the Tallahassee Automobile Museum is a must for anyone in Tallahassee.

Whether you are a visitor, college student, or resident, the Tallahassee Automobile Museum occupies a high priority on any Tallahassee summer bucket list!

This list is by no means exhaustive, but it's a start.

While you have the whole summer stretched out ahead of you, take the opportunity to check these bad boys off, and maybe add a few of your own!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
