The UFC Hits Vegas with another tremendous card as the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada hosts UFC 222: Cyborg Vs Kunitskaya this weekend on March 3rd. On February 7th, it was announced that Cris Cyborg would be defending her Featherweight Championship against former Invicta Bantamweight Champion Yana Kunitskaya.

Frankie Edgar who was supposed to fight Max Holloway for the Championship but that was canceled and he was moved to the Co-Main Event where he will face #3 Ranked Brian Ortega. Sean O’Mailey taking on Andre Soukhamthath in the Bantamweight Division. In the Heavyweight Division #10 ranked Stefan Struve faces Mix-Martial Arts Veteran #12 Andrei Arlovski. Opening up the Main Card will be #6 Ranked Cat Zingano versus #5 Ranked Ketlen Vieira in the Woman’s Bantamweight Division.

Though the original Main Event was to be #2 ranked Featherweight Frankie Edgar facing the Champion Max Holloway, it was scrapped due to Max suffering from a leg injury that caused him to pull out of defending his belt. After going over and pursuing a few possible replacement Main Events, it was announced that Yana Kunitskaya would get a shot at Cris Cyborg for her Featherweight Championship.

Yana in the former Invicta Bantamweight Champion with a Mix Martial-arts record of 10 Wins and 3 losses, 7 of those victories were won by Knockout or TKO. It is her Debut into the UFC and she can really make an impact and some noise if she can dethrone the very dominate Cris Cyborg. We last saw the reigning champion Cyborg at UFC 219 when she dominated Former-Bantamweight Champion Holly Holm for 5 rounds and won by Unanimous Decision.

Since making her Debut at UFC 198 Cris has gone 4-0 with a professional record of 19 wins and 1 loss. If she successfully defends her belt on March 3rd, there is a high chance that the Super fight between Herself and the current Woman’s Bantamweight Champion Amanda Nunes will go down either this summer or later in the year.

The #3 ranked Featherweight Brian Ortega has a chance to get closer to a title shot as he faces #2 Frankie Edgar. “T-City” is coming off of an impressive Submission victory over Cub Swanson at UFC Fight Night 123. Brain is 13-0 in his Mix Martial Arts career and 5-0 in the UFC.

He has dominated the division with wins over big names like Clay Guida and Deigo Brandao, a victory over Frankie Edgar definitely will put him up next against Current Featherweight Champion Max Holloway who is recovering from a leg injury. UFC Veteran Frankie Edgar steps into the octagon again to secure his spot as the next person in line to face Max Holloway, Frankie last faced Yair Rodriguez were he won by Doctor Stoppage in the 2nd round after dominating him on the ground brutally.

Frankie has 22 wins and 5 loss with 1 draw, many people are assuming Edgar does not have much gas in the tank as the veteran hopes to shut down Brian Ortega. A win for Frank with once again set up a potential fight against Champion Max Holloway.

In the Bantamweight division, rising star Sean O’Malley will face Andre Soukhamthath. The prospect from Dana White Tuesday Night Contender Series recently made his debut into the origination at The Ultimate Fighter 26 season Finale when he defeated Terrion Ware by Unanimous decision.

Sean hopes to impress the world with another victory and get closer to breaking into the top 15 bantamweights as he hits the Octagon this weekend with a record of 9 wins and 0 losses. Andre was also recently at UFC Fight Night 123 were he defeated Luke Sanders Via TKO. He has 1 win and 2 losses since he made his first appearance in the UFC last year.

A win for Andre will destroy the perfect record of O’Malley and put him on the right path of also trying to break into the top 15 bantamweights.

Heavyweights collide with #10 ranked Stefan Struve facing #12 Andrei Arlovski. Struve is coming off of a loss to Alexander Volkov at UFC Fight Night 115. A win for Struve can push him closer to breaking into the top 5. Andrei Is coming off of a victory over Junior Albini were he won via Unanimous decision. Both of these UFC veterans are hoping to get back on track after suffering multiple losses. A Win for Andre can set up him up also to get closer to the top 5 heavyweights.

#5 ranked Woman’s Bantamweight Kelten Vieira hopes to keep her undefeated streak alive as she faces a tough opponent in #6 ranked Cat Zingano. Kelten is 9-0 in her career and we last saw her at UFC 215 where she defeated Sara McMann by Arm-Triangle Choke.

A victory over Zingano will send her Higher into the Top 5 and potentially set her up for a bout to break into the top 3. We last seen Cat at UFC 200 in 2016 were she was defeated by Julianna Pena. When she returns to the octagon she hopes to shut down the undefeated Viera and get back on track to the top of the division. A win for Cat can set her up for a future bout to break into the top 5 and get a shot at Amanda Nunes.

Catch the Pre-lims on FightPass, and the Fs1 Prelims on FS1, the Main Card will be on PPV at 10pm/7pm ET.
