UberEATS Review
Uber

Many people have heard of Uber, the convenient and affordable way to transport from place to place without driving. Instead of calling a yellow taxi to pick you up, you now have the luxury on your phone in the form of an app. Uber launched a sister app, called UberEATS, in March of this year. They rolled out UberEATS in Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston and San Francisco to begin with, and then expanded into other large cities around the country such as Atlanta, Dallas, New York, Seattle and even D.C.

When the hype of UberEATS reached Atlanta, I was overjoyed and immediately downloaded the app. When I signed in with my Uber account I then realized that it had not yet spread up into the Kennesaw/Marietta region yet and that I would have to wait a little longer to try this new service. Last week, I decided to look at the app again, and to my surprise, they had started delivering in this area.

As I scrolled through the list of restaurants that were available to choose food from, I saw that the UberEATS selection of menus was rather large. From Italian food to Mexican food to BBQ and even to deli subs, the options were really diverse. Next to each restaurant was an estimated time which showed how long I would have to wait to get my food to my apartment.

When I finally made a decision on the restaurant, I then had to look through the menu and choose what I wanted to eat. As I was choosing things to eat it added the items to “my cart” and I was able to review and change any of the things I had ordered. UberEATS adds on a $3.99 delivery charge for all orders right now, which, when compared to some other delivery companies out there, is actually a reasonable price.

Don’t worry if you’re a picky eater, there are places to put special instructions in for your order. If you don’t want lettuce or tomato on your sandwich, or maybe you need extra sauce, you can specify in the instructions for the restaurant and they will make your order just how you want it.

Once the order was placed, the app gave checkpoints along the way. I was notified when the order was submitted, when the order was ready, when the driver picked up the food, and when the driver was on the way. Just like the original Uber app, it also shows a time estimate of how far away the driver is, as well as the driver’s location to the drop off area.

When the driver arrives with the food, it alerts your phone and also gives you a way to contact the driver if need be. Just like you would contact your Uber driver if you needed to inform them of something, you can contact your UberEATS driver in order to give them whatever instructions or assistance they may need in order to find your place.

One of the great things about UberEATS is that when you use a promotional code from a friend who already has the app, you automatically get $20 off your first order. From there on out Uber gives you a promo code to share with your friends, and when they use your code you get another $20 off your next food purchase. Uber eats appears to be one continuous circle of $20 off promotional codes, so who wouldn’t want to use this app?

While UberEATS is competing with other sites and apps like Grub Hub, it appears that UberEATS has more variety and more options for their customers and also has a smaller delivery fee for their food.

UberEATS is going to be the way of the future. Getting good, quality restaurant food delivered to your door in 30 minutes or less is something that we all should be taking advantage of. Way to go Uber, you guys have definitely thought of something great here!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
