It is so soon! It’s what we’ve all been waiting for. Spring break. This means different things for all of us. Some people choose to go home to their families while other choose to go on wild adventures with friends. Other people choose to party in Mexico while some people simply stay at school. After about ten weeks of classes, exams, projects, and what seems like pure hell…we get a break. Having just finished some unfortunately brutal exams, we get a minute to breathe. But what really defines a good time? Are you the kind of person that wants to just relax and lay on the couch? Do you want to go on a road trip with your amigos from college? All of these adventures, or lack thereof, are fun for different reasons. So why choose each one?
One of the most commonly talked about Spring break excursion is the classic trip with 150+ of your ‘best friends.’ Popular destinations: Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and Miami, Florida. If you like to party, in a bathing suit, on the beach, and with a lot of random people, this is the type of trip for you. Another reason many people choose to go on this type of trip is simply because of the sensational mixed drinks, or insane margaritas in Mexico. This type of trip can really be a hit or a miss depending on the type of person you are. So if this does not seem like it is for you, there are other options!
Option number two is a relaxing vacation with friends. A lot of people choose a tropical location that is fairly accessible like Florida, for example. With beaches everywhere, as long as you are near the coast, what could go wrong. Provided that you wear your sunscreen, everything should go swimmingly. All you need to do is relax and sleep and eat. This type of trip definitely appeals to most.
Next, we have the opportunity to going on a road trip! Step one is to have a car and step two is to choose locations to go to and stop at. Some popular destinations are Nashville, Houston, Atlanta, and Pensacola Beach, Florida. Depending on what each city has in store and to offer can vary from very relaxing to very cultural. Depending on what you are looking for, do not worry; there is always somewhere you can drive to!
This brings us to the classic, exhilarating trip back home. Some people love it and some people despise it. Your parents miss you so much all they want to do is take care of you. So, why wouldn’t you love this? All you have to do is sit on the couch, play with your beloved dog, eat some food, and watch some television. Not sure what could possibly be wrong with this picture.
All of these options sound pretty fun but not to everyone. Everyone finds their own spring break experience one way or another. Sometimes it is trial and error, but they all seem like good choices. Or are you getting the best of both worlds by spending time with friends on a trip and going home to family for some R&R. So, which one are you trying out this year?
