Did you procrastinate too long and still don't have plans for spring break because you never got around to actually booking the hotel? Are all the flights sold out? Or simply can't afford to fly to an extravagant destination like Mexico? If this is you, don't worry. You can still have a fun and enjoyable spring break without the crazy costs or planning.
You can go on a road trip. With gas being so cheap lately, you could drive pretty far for a low cost. In fact, you could drive to Florida last minute and stay in an inexpensive hotel and just spend a few days on the beach. Or if you don't want to be stuck in the car for 10-plus hours, go somewhere in North Carolina, like Charleston or even Wilmington. Sure, it's not as warm as Florida or, say, the Dominican Republic, but it would still be nice.
If you're simply out of options and have chosen to just return home for spring break this year, it's not the end of the world. You can still make it fun! Take day trips with a friend. Visit cool places in your state that you've never been to before. Go to a museum. Try a new restaurant. Explore and go for a hike on a trail you've never been on. Try to start a new hobby. Or, if they're close enough, you can visit other friends at their colleges if they don't have the same spring break week.
And if you can't do any of these, just take the week to relax. Take advantage of the free time. You've been so busy with school that you could probably use this time to focus on yourself. Treat yourself to a manicure or a massage. Go to the gym. Catch up on sleep. Hang out with family members that you don't get to see as often anymore. No matter what you end up doing for your spring break, I can guarantee you'll have stories to tell when you get back to school. Okay, maybe they won't be about getting blackout on the beach with a ton of other college students, but if you try to make the most of the week, you'll still appreciate it.
