The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is not as secure as it should be and people all over the world are fed up. Although it is hard to be perfect and humans do make careless errors, the TSA really has improved security on every flight in our country by scanning everyone's bag and patting down people that raise red flags. Rules such as removing shoes before being scanned and not allowing liquids on the plane have really upset many customers of the airlines but are necessary in keeping flights safe. Recently, the TSA has been blamed for cutting staff and not being able to identify weapons in people's bags, which is one of their most crucial jobs.
Overall, the TSA really does need to step up their game, simply because we cannot let our guard down for a split second. Although uncomfortable, intrusive pat downs are a completely necessary search if we want flights to be secure. Without checking the entire body, people will figure out that they can sneak things onto the aircraft without being questioned. The TSA’s number one priority at the moment should be to invest in new technology so that not one weapon or bomb goes unaccounted for. Whether the scanners miss 1% or 96% of all weapons is no different, it only takes one gun or one bomb to change the day in history forever.
