You always hear of funny stories about what happens behind the scenes in movies or TV shows but do you know the truth about what happens in the church? I grew up as a pastors daughter and I have seen the things that others hide from members that do not have a standing in leadership roles. I was eleven when my father was voted out of a church, or fired, because he "didn't fit anymore."
I saw and heard what was said about my father and I knew what was really happening as it happened. I tried my hardest to understand why this was happening to my family and to this day I still don't fully understand why it happened. My father took a stand and it went before the church. The church voted to fire him, the irony is that many members did not fully understand what was going on.
As an eleven-year-old, I could see it when there were older church members that couldn't. This has happened to many men of God. The average church member does not see things because of the hiding that goes on behind the scenes. There are many times when rumors and half truths are spread throughout the church.
People tend to take these at face value because they came from a leader in the church. Even in a church you never know what is the truth and what is the devil trying to deceive. People are scared to stand up and voice their concerns because they do not want to direct attention to themselves. There is always a small group of members that understand and know what is really going on because they have a hand in it.
I urge you to pray for the man of God in your church and I urge you to pray that the truth will be revealed in God's time. If you are a member that does not know what is really going on in your church ask yourself, "Is this God's church or is this Man's church?" If you come to the conclusion it is man's church you need to pray that God will reveal the inner workings of the church so that He can do amazing things through your church.
If it is God's church yet you do not see it pray that God will expose those who seek to rule the church without God's help. Pray for the man God has placed over your church so that he may be strong in the Lord and be able to stand when needed and to be the Man of God he was called to be. If you are that man of God that is being accused and beaten by your flock I pray that you are willing to stand for what you know if God's word and that you know that God is with you no matter what. He will protect and provide for you the answers you seek.
Members, I want this to be an encouragement. If you do not know what is going on in your church pray that God will give you the voice to ask the questions that need to be asked. Pray that God will give you the courage to stand, not only for Him but for the man He has placed there. Pray that your church can see the truth and understand that the pastor does have a vision for the church, there just needs to be people willing to stand with him to see it happen.
