I think it's important to understand my views on sharing ideas and talking about controversial subjects. Label me if you please, but realize that my view is something that stands in my head the moment I tap away at a keyboard. My view could very well change to the polar opposite from a substantially life changing experience involving a clown, a lawnmower, and the wardrobe. Still, there are things that I might not budge on because that is my human right: to be ignorant. Ignorance is bliss to some people but it can also be bliss for all because the world in the words of our President, Donald J. Trump,
So if your house is on fire, hose it down with some gasoline. I just try to be as aware as I can be, but every time I try to get informed, I turn into Lewis Black. Then I realize that Mr. Black has been doing this for so long, he visibly quivers when he's angry. When one can just accept the fact that everything is temporary, nothing is forever, and we're all gonna die, it becomes easier to digest the horrors of everyday life.
Being funny sometimes requires that dark side, and you know something is dark when almost all comedians are talking about it. Bo Burnham kinda puts it perfectly in his tweet. Thus I can't see myself being funny on this medium unless I can't currently express my coarse personal opinions about the orange face in the sky: not the sun.
It is incredibly important to listen to those we disagree with so that we can understand how to redirect their opinion if we choose to do so. Calling names or using violence only makes us more of a loser because it proves that that person is not willing to show up to talk or debate, but rather use something that can objectively do harm to prove that they are right. When has anyone ever liked someone that unleashes physical violence on them?
Unfortunately, sadomasochism isn't the only instance where that happens. I mean, can't someone harm someone else to maintain dominance and control of them? Whether or not your opinion matters, does someone under control even have the self-esteem to form an opinion? Basically, I'm trying to say that clearly talking about what's wrong is the most effective way to deal with it. It feels sad that I have to say this; but, with today's online communication and mass media, we are not getting the back and forth that a simple conversation has to be able to resolve conflicts.
This matter's because everyone that believes Trump's as bad as my lesbian left-wing lettuce eating tree hugging friend thinks he is, and STILL voted for him. Those people are the ones that took the gamble on him. When you bet wrong, it's embarrassing. This leads to anger, and that anger can motivate people to double down. Trump's red power tie also doubled down, sure it shows the growth in power to President, but is it worth the pee stains?
The back and forth that does need to happen isn't happening because Trump just says it, and there isn't much that can be done at that point because it's like releasing a rabid dog in a nursery you lost the keys to. Whether that "it" is a tweet, a speech, juvenile, false, mean, pathetic or even petty, the news has to do their job. I feel bad for the reporters talking to Trump because I can't imagine having to talk to someone like him in the position he's in and not lose brain cells in the process.
Trump's relation to the people is one thing, and his politics is another. Trump's foreign deals were being shielded by tweets that would cause a stir. That was a few months ago, but today, he is distracting everyone from his relationship with Russia. We are about a month in and we are comparing Watergate, the bar for Presidential scandals, to what's happening in this administration right now. I just hope that newspapers have committed journalists unearthing this scandal as well as others before our President discredits them more than he already has. I hope that I can continue to identify what Trump is brewing, and what he's hiding. Even though his thumbs are small, they have a huge … sorry, YUGE effect on stringing the media. Listen to people, share opinions, and please continue the conversation below.
