At the time I write this article, Trump is still leading in the GOP nomination polls. In second is Ben Carson, but he is 10 points behind. Ever since Trump announced his campaign, I've had some questions, but this late in the game I have a ton. We will be selecting a nominee in three months, so Trump leading isn't a joke anymore.
I have three theories about why Trump is leading in the polls.
1. It's all a joke, people are just saying they will vote for him so they can keep him in the spotlight and see the crazy stuff he will do (which by the way, only encourages this type of behavior).
2. This shows how bleak the GOP candidates are, and Trump just seems like the best option.
3. Trump is actually doing a really good job, has studied political theory, and is running a political campaign that has no possibility of failing.
It is hard for me to believe that people think he is a moral, calm person and viable presidential candidate. He has a large ego and doesn't resonate with the average American.
Here are five reasons of why I know people could never believe he is a good, caring person.
1. The things he says about other races.
2. The crazy stuff he has said about women.
Here's a list of at least 18 more of them
3. He has flip-flopped more times than I can count.
Here's an interview from 1999 where his views seem very Democratic, and I quote "I am very Pro-Choice."
Also, his stance on marriage equality has changed once he started campaigning for president.
His stances on issues are all documented in articles like this article, and this one, and this one.
4. His Twitter account is pure gold!
5. And when I see things on the Internet that make me believe people really do hate him.

So, I did some research into how Trump is so successful and leading in polls since day one. Trump has name recognition and media attention to thank. Before this race, I had no idea who Ben Carson was, Carly Fiorina, or for that matter even Bernie Sanders. But, I knew who Donald Trump was. "The Apprentice," Trump Towers, Miss USA—Donald Trump was our WASP Kim Kardashian. He leads the media coverage with almost double the mentions of Hillary Clinton. Other than those basic concepts, he is appealing to the extreme of the Republican Party. He is able to speak to the worries of the party's core, both socially (pro-life, anti-marriage equality, and against gun control) and economically (small government and capitalism). His main support comes from his promise of job creation and fixing a weak economy, through his experience in business and creating a $4.5 billion empire. Additionally, since he is not a career politician, they believe he will be able to bring the change to Washington that is needed and "Make America Great Again." His campaign is all about the economy, even when he talks about "the wall" and immigration, he is still blaming these undocumented immigrants for our financial woes. Money resonates heavily with us—we all want to be a little bit richer and feel safe and secure about our future. The American Dream is built on the idea of money, did you learn nothing from the symbolism of "The Great Gatsby?"
So let's get serious about Trump and take a good hard look at his plans, because blaming a group for our economic problems is very similar to something that happened in Germany in 1933, just sayin'.
And I leave you with this.
