Trump, The Media, And The Government Are Our Wake Up Calls

Fake news, just like gossiping and rumors. Trump using Twitter and social media to express himself but when you go up to his face it's all a 'misunderstanding.'

Where do I even start? Trump winning office has caused a lot of fear, protests, uncertainty, hopelessness, and questioning thoughts on what our country, media, and government, has come to and will come to.

It feels like high school again, it really does. All I see on the news is how Trump replies and reacts through TWITTER. His small minded comments and ignorant replies, just reminds me more and more of ignorant high school students always trying to show off, act like they're the best thing ever, and say the DUMBEST shit ever. However, since it has been discovered that CNN makes FAKE NEWS, which isn't much of a shock to me either since I started noticing a while back how the headlines, stories, and conversations on the once respected program are...small minded, underdeveloped, and not getting to the actual point. I didn't understand why reporter's reactions, and their ways of speaking to one another was like watching people argue in high school. They try to make the bullshit fall out of their mouth sound adequate and make themselves seem confident in what they're saying as if it is right and true.

Since Trump has won elections, I hate to even admit it to myself but even I have become to second guess myself in this country and my abilities... I started to think I couldn't make a change in the education system. That my major, hopes, dreams are just going to be treated like a joke.

If someone like Trump won the US elections, our government not wanting to pass laws and bills that may help the entire country (such as Obamacare where Obama had a better and original plan in mind but republicans just want to say no to everything he says because division of parties obviously), false news being reported to the public, Facebook and social media with its circulation of fake articles, the lack of truth and sources being told to the public. All we see is corruption and dishonesty. All that people talk about, or can talk about is small minded topics that we have been brainwashed to care about, and think about through the media, through advertising, through the news and online.

How can I bring something so powerful into change if Obama himself gets stopped by a bunch of people in congress who call themselves republicans and have power, money, and authority to make things happen or not happen (sounds a little like a gang or cult to me but let me stop before I go there). It's sad to see that in a country where we are SHOWN that if you have money, power, and authority you call the shots. If you don't, well, you just have to do the best you can do.

Now, of course, I do believe in having the law of attraction on your side. If you work hard to achieve what you set your mind to, don't let anything stop you or affect you, you can do it. The hard part is we are creatures who are affected by our environment, who over time, or even in the moment, can be affected by anything (consciously or subconsciously). Having a strong mind can only get you so far. In High School I felt the same way I feel right now. If anything a little worse because I have done nothing but reach for the stars and it seems like my oxygen tank ran out of power because someone screwed me over with the battery charge. In high school, I felt like I didn't belong because I cared more about honesty, sincerity, humanity, helping one another, and learning about things that actually matter and can connect to our place in this world...But everyone else would rather talk about gossip, drama, or bully each other on social media. Kind of like Trump, our media, and our government who I think needs to stop calling itself a democracy because at this point I call bullshit. We really don't know what's going on in our country, let alone other countries, let alone what secrets the US is really keeping back from us.

The bright side is, truth has reached some surface, some crazy things like Trump winning will hopefully cause the citizens of the US to search for truth, enlightenment, and ACT to make a positive, developed, change in our country. We need to start demanding what we want to see happen. Better health care, more humanity and less racism, more people looking into themselves and asking am I really the best person I can be? Acknowledge we have the power to make a change if we come together and demand it. There are more citizens than there are corrupt people in the government. We need a precise plan, a precise demand, a precise well-developed vision of what we want to see in this country. It all starts with us, it all starts with questioning ourselves.

I want to see hope, equality, truth, better health care, less corruption and brainwashing in our music and media. More people doing the RIGHT thing and not what benefits them alone, more kind-heartedness, more smile's and hellos as we pass by one another on the streets. More action, and less talk of bullshit. I want to see less of the US going into other countries affairs to just destroy them and take the resources they want. I want to see Planned Parenthood, free college, higher pay. A better education system where we help the child's development and not just trying to make them better at math because India is better. I want to see a change in our climate where we work to stabilize it. I want to see less division between people of different races and promoting racial white purity. I want to see more affordable homes and safer communities. I want to see the Peace-Topia society I created as a project as in my 8th grade US History class. I still feel as if it is possible, only if we ALL as a nation believe it is possible.

Here is a video of someone speaking on the behave of this terrible time we are in and how it's actually a good thing. Maybe we needed something crazy to happen for us to actually make a change.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
