President Trump Has Likely Never Taken A Political Science Course

And if he did, well, he didn't learn much.

It’s true that your major does not have to match your career and all that hype, but when someone is cutting your hair or doing your taxes, you would hope they’ve at least gone to beauty school or taken Calc 2, respectively.

During his campaign, Trump went off the magic of the "f*ck the system" philosophy, or the Bernie Sanders effect. Everyone is so pissed at the government for their faults, that we always want The New Guy, the outsider. And Donald Trump was the ultimate outsider. So outside, that he quite possibly never took a political science class at all!

So, why do I think this?

At Wharton (UPenn's renowned business school), young Trump probably took amazing upper-level Economics and advanced business and leadership courses. All good things, but nowhere in the Wharton curriculum (or Fordham University which he attended prior to a junior-year transfer) is a political science course required.

These are the two big things The Prez has a lack of POLSCI101-level understanding of:

1. Separation of powers concept

From taking High School AP Government, I know that the president can’t “swamp” nothin' when it comes to the judicial system.

Why?

Well, judiciaries serve for life, and you can’t just kick them off when they disagree with something you said. Especially when their disagreement is calling Trump out for doing unconstitutional things. Again learned in AP Gov is the point of the checks and balances of the judicial system: to check that the executive branch is being constitutional.

Trump thinks the judiciary should stay out of his way, but in fact one of the reasons they exist is to control the executive branch's power. Trump is used to being the sole power of his company. Now that he works in a system, it’s confusing him and testing his ego.

2. Basic diplomacy

In AP Gov, we learned about the many "hats" a president wears. The president plays many roles, some being Chief Executive, Commander in Chief, Head of Foreign Policy, and Head of Political Party. One of his main roles is being Head of Sate, or the "face" of the US. The president is supposed to personify the values of our country.

President Trump is recking our rep' with other countries. In the tweet above, Trump uses the insults of a 5th grader to blatantly bully a world leader.

Other groups/people he has insulted, as cumulated by the LA Times:

-Mexicans

-Women

-Ted Cruz

-both Clintons

-The media

-People with disabilities

-The pope

-Iowans

Through his lack of knowledge (or blatant ignoring) of these two intro-to-politics topics, it's obvious Trump was never a PolSci major. Nor did he need to be. A lot of presidents boast of degrees in economics, sociology and even geology. The point is he is lacking the basics, and it is becoming problematic to our country.

So...

Let's see the transcripts, Mr. President.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
