As most of us know, Pokémon Go has taken the world by storm. I'll be honest, at first I thought the game was going to be lame, because I didn't really get into Pokémon when I was younger. However, I stepped off my high horse and finally downloaded the game in order to go on a "Pokémon Go date" and I kind of had the time of my life.
From what I understand, the game is really fun to play in parks, landmarks, shopping areas, and basically anywhere that is a popular destination. For instance I live in Richmond, VA; so as usual the James River is always a go to hangout spot for anything. When we arrived to Brown's Island, I kind of came to the realization of how awesome this game really is.
First off, businesses can definitely use this game to earn profit. Within a couple minutes of arriving I noticed a few tables set up selling water, snacks, and even t-shirts for the different Pokémon teams. I don't know, as a business student I just thought that was incredibly smart and kind of funny at the same time. If you're up for sitting in 100 degree weather during the summer selling water and snacks, then I say go for it.
On the same topic of heat, the day I went it was VERY humid and raining. It was all good though. As long as you're playing with someone that's pretty awesome, then the weather is honestly irrelevant. We were supposed to go to the gym that day, but I mean, Pokémon Go can be just as rewarding than the gym. Apparently there's a website that will tell you where certain Pokémon are spawning at the time. Let me tell you: if there's only a minute left for a Cubone that you really want... YOU RUN FOR THAT POKÉMON. I'll even add a GIF of the super cute Snapchat I took while we ran and the even cuter selfie I took post the Pokémon chase.
Running:
Post Run: Warning, I look super hot.
Cute right? So next time you want to play Pokémon instead of hitting the gym, Pokémon is definitely the way to go.
Not only do you have the chance to "catch them all" (by all I mean Pokémon), but you also have the chance to "pet them all" (and by all I mean PUPPIES). Yes, owners of cute little puppies and dogs take their little companions out while they hunt for Pokemon, which gives me the opportunity to pet all the cute dogs and potentially make a new friend. In my opinion, that's enough reason to play the game.
So there you have it, a non-Pokémon girl plays Pokémon. The after results? I'm not gonna lie, I actually really liked it. Like, a lot. So to anyone to hasn't played it yet, give it a try! I promise you won't regret it. :)
PS: If you go at night it's 100% more fun. Just stay safe y'all!
