It's hard to lose someone, whether it is a family member or friend. Trust me, I can relate.
I have lost family members before and it was some of the hardest times I had to go through, but when they are older and have some medical problems, you know to prepare for the worst. What happens when it is a perfectly healthy 20-year-old who just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time?
Well, it's pretty shocking, to say the least. The first thing I remember on November 9th is waking up to my roommate asking me what is going on. Five minutes later, I got a call telling me everything was true: you were gone.
No one can prepare for that, and if you can tell me that is something you can prepare for, then you must be able to see into the future to know it is going to happen.
I could barely move once I heard the news, but somehow I was able to meet with my friends as we mourned the one person who used to play his guitar every night as we sang along to "Party in the USA" or whatever else he chose to play that night.
It was one of the hardest moments that all the people whose lives he touched had to endure.
As his birthday just went by and the day he passed is coming soon, it's still something that is hard to accept. Why was someone so young and full of life chosen to leave this Earth? It does not make sense and never will, but we just have to continue with the hope that everything happens for a reason.
There are ways that he reaches out to us all, and he makes it known. I had a moment at "A Day to Remember" concert. I only knew one song in their whole set, and it took me half the song to realize I only knew it because he played it so many times on our way to Psychology with one of our other friends. He's even touched the lives of the people at Felician University as they are creating a scholarship in his honor
There will be moments everyday where he comes into our lives, and sometimes never leaves. But there is only one thing he wanted to do, and I know for a fact that he accomplished that during his time on Earth and still does it everyday.
