Since the weather has finally cooled down we can get down to the real reason why everyone enjoys coming back to school. No, it's not the parties or seeing your friends who you haven't been able to see all summer, it's the sole reason of one season: fall. When I was younger, I remember all my friends always telling me how summer was their favorite season, what they were excited to do with their family and where they were going on vacation, well now that has changed and as college students, everyone seems to be obsessed with fall. Not only is it the outfits you can wear this fall, it's the drinks you can enjoy on a brisk fall day, and it's even the fall-like activities that get everyone excited for one of the most enjoyable seasons.
Clothing Trends:
Girls love dressing to impress for fall, strictly due to the fact that the weather seems to be the perfect temperature all the time. For starters, leggings and riding boots is something every girl should own in her wardrobe. Leggings are such a simple pant that can easily be dressed up or dressed down. Wearing a baggy sweater, with a pair of leggings and riding boots will be something that will keep you looking stylish, yet feeling comfy.
Next on this fall's must-haves are flannels. Flannels are heavy enough to wear alone or with a vest if it's a little chilly that day. Wearing a flannel with a messy bun and some cute earrings, a simple necklace, and some riding boots or a cute pair of flats will have you looking trendy and ready for Fall.
Another top outfit choice this year is the kimono. Now, there is the light and sheer kimono which is perfect for summer, but for the fall season, there are kimonos that are made of heavier fabric. These cardigan-like sweaters are perfect if you're looking for an easy fix to a cute tank top or plain v-neck shirt.
Fall Beverage Trends:
Starbucks is every girl's weakness. They seem to have everything everyone is looking for, especially when you need a boost of energy in the morning. However, this year instead of the typical PSL (Pumpkin Spice Latte) that every girl usually gets, Starbucks has created a new latte that they hope will win their customers over. This latte is the Toasted Graham Latte and just like its name, it tastes like a graham cracker with cinnamon flavoring, and with a sweet cream taste. Along with this new latte, Starbucks has created a new cup that resembles everything fall. On the cup you can see leaves, acorns, and autumn-like colors. The design is simple, yet adds a sprinkle of color that than the normal white and green Starbucks cup.
Trendy Activities:
Before Halloween, there are always so many different activities you are able to engage in. Apple picking and pumpkin picking are always at the top of the list for many people. It's a cute, easy thing to do with your family or friends. While at either an apple farm or pumpkin patch, you are usually able to complete corn mazes and experience a hayride. While enjoying these things, you can sit back and eat food specific to the fall season like caramel apples, and a cup of freshly brewed hot apple cider.
Haunted attractions bring out the inner child in people of all ages, plus people ultimately enjoy being scared. So things like haunted houses, haunted hayrides, and even haunted amusement parks are all major attractions during the fall months. Many smaller pumpkin farms will generally have these attractions at night after the sun goes down to give their customers the best scare. Many haunted houses have a one-price ticket for five or six houses, where you can walk through them at your own leisure. One of the main attractions in Ohio occurs at Cedar Point. During the late weeks of September until October 31st, Cedar Point changes from their everyday Roller Coaster Capital to Halloweekends. Most of their roller coaster attractions are still open, but there's a twist on the park. Everything is turned into Halloween attractions, there are freak shows being shown, haunted houses throughout the park, and ghoulish characters roaming around the park trying to scare people as they walk past.
With all of these things in mind and cool temperatures to enjoy these options, fall seems to be one of the best seasons that living in the North has to offer. Cute outfits, flavorful drinks, and endless recreational opportunities is what the fall season has to offer us this year.
