Movies these days are usually a one watch wonder. You can watch it once and then if you see it a second time it just isn't that good. There is a small sliver of movies that you are able to watch over and over again and they never get old. You're able to quote the lines, notice things that you didn't the first couple of times seeing it, and overall just enjoying it the same as you did the first time you ever saw it. These movies can be split up into genres, and for this article, we are looking at the best sports movies of all time. So when you're browsing Netflix and finding out that you have watched every movie on there already, pick one of these ten movies and sit back and let the memories of your childhood flow over you. Or is it's your firs time seeing any of these movies, just be prepared to watch them more than once.
1. Sandlot
This is a no brainer number one. I don't care if you follow sports or not, this movie is the G.O.A.T. The phrase "you're killing me smalls" and "you play ball like a girl" have been a trademark quote ever since the movie was released. Benny, the jet has become every girl's dream man and every boy's hero. The shoes that will make you run faster and jump higher, PF Flyers. The VCR tape still sits in my basement and I can't lie, I do pop it in ever once in a while and watch while the nostalgia flows over me. Do me a favor though and don't watch Sandlot 2.
2. Remember The Titans
LEFT SIDE!!!!, STRONG SIDE!!!!, LEFT SIDE!!!!, STRONG SIDE!!!!
Remember The Titans takes the number two spot. This classic movie shows the come up of a football team struggling with the differences between blacks and whites in the early 1970's. Not only is it a great football movie, but the overall life lesson of the movie is what makes it so strong and meaningful.
3. Miracle
It's no miracle that this movie takes the third spot. The greatest hockey game to ever be played without a doubt. Team USA vs The Soviet Union in 1980 at the Lake Placid Winter Olympic Games. This movie will have you watching it AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN.
4. Space Jam
Get your secret stuff water bottle and some popcorn and watch the legend Michael Jordan and your favorite Looney Toons venture to play the Monstars in this amazing movie. There are some people that haven't seen this movie surprisingly enough, watch it.
5. Like Mike
"Make me like Mike."
Every kid's dream is to play in the NBA when they're young, pretending to be their favorite player in the backyard and hitting the game-winning shot. This movie takes that dream and puts it into reality as Calvin Cambridge gets a lucky pair of shoes that will change his life not only on the court but off the court as well.
6. Happy Gilmore
No matter who you take onto the links, they will always try to hit at least one shot Happy Gilmore style. This movie is one of very few good Adam Sandler movies, in my opinion. This movie is hilarious but has a soft spot in the plot which makes it an enjoyable ending as well.
7. The Mighty Ducks
Coming from Minnesota the Mighty Ducks movies were always a hit. Not to mention some of it was filmed in Minnesota. Every kid in Pee Wee hockey wanted to score a goal off the famous triple deak and celly hard with the boys after.
8. Greatest Game Ever Played
This movie takes us back to the older days of golf, giving us a perspective of what the game use to be before the high tech clubs and balls were created. This movie shows a great deal of determination and pure love of the game of golf. Never gets old to watch.
9. Caddy Shack
Caddy shack is just a classic. The radio bag and the famous gopher. This one just had to be thrown into the top ten in my opinion due to the pure vintage of it.
10. Coach Carter
Coach Carter is the best "start from nothing" movie. A group of African American teens who have no guidance learn to become a team and are taught by a coach who is from a privileged background. The movie shows that through time and trust, anything is possible.
