Taking pride in our country is something I have always done growing up. I have always supported law enforcement and our troops and will continue to do so for as long as I live. I am proud to call myself an American and appreciate all the freedoms and liberties we are granted in this country. The songwriters below and I all share one main thing in common: we all love our country.
1. Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue
Toby Keith
Hey Uncle Sam, this one goes out to you.
2. Ragged Old Flag
Johnny Cash
Johnny Cash is definitely an all-American, all the way down to his boots. His dedication to Ol' Glory is one of the most beautiful songs about our high flying flag and all that it has been through.
3. Only in America
Brooks & Dunn
In America we dream in red, white and blue. The American Dream says that anyone can do and be anything they want. We live in a land of opportunity, where we have the freedom to speak about what we believe in, or write about it in some cases.
4. God Bless the USA
Lee Greenwood
Regardless of your stance on the use of the word "God" in politics, I will continue to ask God to bless this country. Especially in times of distress, such as the recent Orlando shooting, and in times of war.
5. Some Gave All
Billy Ray Cyrus
We can get up everyday and say that we love this country and that we do whatever we can for it, but until you are on the line fighting for it, you have not given all. I cannot personally say that I have given my all, but I continue to support those that have and ask God to Bless our Troops.
6. The Eagle
Waylon Jennings
7. Chicken Fried
Zac Brown Band
We don't think about all the little things every day, including eating fried chicken and drinking beer on Friday nights. Sometimes you have to take a step back and appreciate all the little things that you have and are able to do because of the things others give up for us.
8. America
Neil Diamond
9. American Pie
Don McLean
A long long time ago... I'm sure many of us can recognize this one by just the first couple of words and who can't help but sing along to the chorus?
10. Star Spangled Banner
Whether it is Whitney Houston or Carrie Underwood, there is always something about hearing the National Anthem that will always give me the chills. The local country station by me plays either the National Anthem, God Bless America, or another similar song every day at noon as a salute to the country and no matter how many times I hear the song I get the chills. And nothing kills me more than someone that talks or doesn't remove their cap during the anthem; to some it may sound silly, to me that is the one of the ultimate signs of disrespect.
