So, with summer approaching, the best thing to know is all the greatest beaches, what days you have off work and all the festivals in between. But something you also need to plan for is movies. Summer blockbusters are a must-have, whether you're lucky enough to live near a drive-in or you need somewhere to go on one of those rainy days where the beach is a little too muddy for your taste. Here are my picks for, specifically, franchises to see this summer.
"Captain America: Civil War" (May 6)
Oh boy. Here it is. We have all been waiting for this to come. Which side are you on? It's a toss up between the establishment and doing what you think is right. Friends will collide. Let's hope it lives up to all the hype.
"X-Men: Apocalypse" (May 27)
With a God named Apocalypse, rumored to be the first mutant rising again, he has plans to cleanse the Earth of scum and kill billions of people. It will take everyone to defeat him and stand up to him.
"Alice Through the Looking Glass" (May 27)
Alice must return to Wonderland in this film in order to save her friend, the Hatter. She'll meet old enemies, old friends, but also race against time himself. Literally.
"Now You See Me 2" (July 4)
I loved the first movie. There was an air of mystery and excitement about it. Magic tricks are always exciting, and the stakes are high. But now revenge is on. The stakes are higher.
Finding Dory (June 17)
Dory needs to go home, so the gang is back! Follow Dory on her adventure to find her parents with Marlin, Nemo and old friends sticking in tow.
"The BFG" (July 1)
"Ghostbusters" (July 15)
I personally am excited for this, even though there's a lot of haters because one, it's full of girls and two, it just seems like the same thing. Come on, it's not. We're out of the eighties. Get pumped.
"Star Trek Beyond" (July 22)
I'm intrigued to see where this one is going. This entire franchise is being remade in an alternate universe, which gives them license to change some things from the originals, so while it's all familiar, it's nice to expect some changes as well.
