Being in college and trying to stay fashionable can be tough, whether it’s trying to look cute while running from the Marshall Student Center to your class in Cooper Hall (basically running across campus) or being able to carry your daily school needs without using a bulky backpack. But, the thing is, incorporating the newest trends from the runways can be easily done and it can even make your day easier.
Throw Some Shade
Living in Florida, the sun and its rays are inevitable, but luckily sunglasses were invented to assist the fight with harsh UV rays that damage our eyes while walking to classes. They're functional and they can even make your look appear more refined. The most popular looks seen on the runways during New York and Paris Fashion Week have been eclectic. Mirrored or futuristic glasses have been seen on practically every blogger and model. Meanwhile, the classic cat-eye never goes out of style, it also looks great on any face shape.
With or Without a Bad Hair Day, Wear A Hat
Like shades, hats can block the sun from damaging the skin on our face and chest, but they also look cute on everyone. Berets, fedoras and large brim wool hats are great to throw on any look to add a bit of edge for the fall. Even the simplest of outfits, a white t-shirt and black jeans for example, can be elevated with a large black wool hat.
Collecting Keys
Being a college student pretty much means you're going to have a load of keys (car, dorm/apartment, gym locker, mailbox etc.). The best way to keep them organized is by using a keychain. It may sound typical, but keychains can be an accessory just like a necklace or wallet. Many bloggers have been seen sporting statement keychains such as large skulls, faux fur balls and leather cardholders. Another great tip is to use more than one keychain to really make a trend. For example, using a cute keychain and a cardholder together can simplify your bag, alleviating the need for a wallet. This can also keep your most used cards together, like IDs and credit cards, in an easy to reach fashion.
Bag It Up
Messenger bags from all shapes and materials are a main staple for fall. Their elegant yet structured body allow them to compliment a majority of looks. They're great for days when your carrying a light load and make a crisp finish in comparison to a backpack. With messengers everything you need for the day can be found concisely.
For the days when your professors ask your textbooks to be brought to class, the fashionable alternative is a leather backpack. Unlike their siblings, the leather backpack is a more chic choice. The pieces contain enough room for heavier packing yet scream "fall" when paired with a thick sweater.
A+ Shoes
Heels may not be everyone’s choice for a long day on campus, however there are great alternatives to the standard stiletto. 90s styled chunky heels are making a comeback and they're perfect for fall, because of their platform and large heel they are extremely comfortable to wear and walk in all day. Shiny dress shoes are another shoe seen In Paris Fashion Week and because they are flats, you won’t be in pain at the end of the day.
