For some reason, the art of the 360 degree video is not going viral yet, and I have no idea why. There are currently only a couple of different (and very expensive) ways of filming a 360 degree video, so the trend is only starting with those with enough money AND TALENT. But I think people need to recognize that these videos are being put on Youtube. If you haven't watched one before...prepare to have your mind blown.
Here are the top 5 videos you should be watching that incorporates the 360 degree camera: (in order to use it on the computer, you can click and drag your mouse around, or use the 'a' 's' 'w' 'd' letters on your keyboard. If you are on a portable device, then just move your phone around and enjoy!)
1. FunForLouis: Sierra Leone 360 Adventure
This was the very first video that I saw that used the 360 camera. I have been following this Youtuber, FunForLouis, for a couple of years now, and when I saw this video come up, I couldn't believe what I was watching. Once you get over how cool the technology is, focus on what is actually happening in this video, because it is truly moving.
2. Casey Neistat: 360 Camera In Places You've Never Seen
This is Casey Neistat with Youtuber Roman Atwood. Casey is considered to be a creative genius and it didn't surprise me to see him jump on the budding trend of 360 videos. In this video, he takes you around places in New York City. I HIGHLY suggest to check out his other videos.
3. ✈ 360° Cockpit view of a SWISS Airbus A320 flying from Geneva (GVA) to Zurich (ZRH).
So this is extremely cool. Experience a flight from beginning to finish from inside the cockpit.
4. The Hills remix feat. Eminem
From what I can tell, this is the first music video of an A-List star that has incorporated the 360 video experience. Its a "little" over the top and ridiculous, but this looks like the first integration of this new technology in mainstream media.
5. Wingsuit Balloon Rope Swing
This will certainly get your palms a little bit sweaty, but this video is remarkable. Where is the 360 video actually stationed?!!?
