Five ThingsTo Do Before You Die

We all have a bucket list, or have at least heard of them. Maybe you have been writing your own since you were little or maybe you have just started recently or maybe you haven't started one at all. The point is, you should start and you should have a bucket list. Type it, draw it, write it, make a poem of it. The things on this list are events. places, people that you want meet and visit in your life before you die. Some people complete their bucket lists with their friends and family, while others go at it alone. Take some time to think about the top five things on your bucket list.

1. Travel to new places.

Everyone dreams of traveling the world and that may not be possible for everyone. Pick a few places that you have dreamed of going to and go! Make these the best trips of your life and try new things while you are going around to new places. One idea is to throw a dart at a map and go whenever that dark takes you. This could give you a new perception on life and for things you have never seen before.

2. Spend holidays being happy.

Christmas, Easter, New Years, Halloween, any holiday of the year... The most important thing about them is to be happy. Be with good people and be in good places. Everyone hears about watching the ball drop in Times Square, most of us watch it on television, but everyone should try to experience being there in person once in their life.

3. Get married to the one you love.

Having the perfect wedding, a beautiful dress, delicious food and a great guest list can be every bride's dream. Having the person you love standing next to you making each day better than the last is what really makes that day perfect. Having your friends and family around you both on that special day is what matters. Being in love is a special thing, everyone should experience it at some point in their life. They say when you know you know, so don't rush things.

4. Start a family.

After getting married every couple has the discussion of kids. Kids play a huge role in starting a family and creating something bigger than yourselves. Raising kids and seeing how your family develops can be an amazing feeling. Your family are the people who will love you and cherish you for your whole life. They will be proud of you in your high moments and even in your lowest ones too. Family can be everything if you let it be.

5. Go on adventures.

Take the risks you may have never taken before, take chances that can change your life, and meet new people that can make you a better person. Do something crazy, out of your comfort zone, or an acitivity that you have always had a passion for. Adventures can be big or small as long as you are enjoying life and making the best of every day you have.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
