10 Things That Need To Be On Your Summer Bucket List

As soon as school lets out summer begins. In saying that everyone wants to make the most out of their summer... well at least most do unless you are crazy. Summer is all about getting away from schoolwork, enjoying the nice weather, and spending time with the people you care about most. Therefore, I have compiled a list of 10 fun and different things everyone should have on their summer bucket list.

To quote Charles Bowden: "Summertime is always the best of what might be."

1. Have a "Beach" Day

Spending at least one day at the beach is a summertime necessity. Plus there are so many things one can do at the beach like soak up some sun, lounge in the water, and play beach volleyball or spike ball. The possibilities are endless.

2. Travel to the City for a Day

No matter where you may live, there has to be some kind of city. And once in the city, there are so many possibilities as to what to do. In Chicago at least, many people visit Navy Pier, rent Segways, go shopping down the Magnificient Mile, and eat some World Famous Chicago Deep Dish Pizza. Explore the options in a city near you.

3. Go to a Music Festival

No matter what genre of music you listen to there is probably some kind of festival or concert series that caters to your music taste. There is awesome food, interesting people, and cool activities to experience. Plus you are surrounded by 10,000 people who love the same music as you. Obviously, the guy in the gif above is having a good time.

4. Go to a Drive-In Movie

Spending a night at the Drive-In movies has been a time-honored American tradition. The Drive-In movies give a different perspective as opposed to sitting in a theater. You have the comfort of your own car, and you do not have to pay those outrageous fees at the theaters. Here is a list of Drive-In movie theaters near you!

5. Spend a Day at the Zoo

Spending a day at the is a childhood tradition. Going to see the dolphins, monkeys, and bears are one of my favorite days of the summer. It brings back so many childhood memories. So this one that definitely needs to go on everyone's bucket list.

6. Go Skydiving (Or Indoor Skydiving for the less adventurous)

Now, I know this may seem out there but give it a chance. Skydiving is a once in a lifetime experience. Why not take a chance and be spontaneous. However, for the less adventurous indoor skydiving facilities have opened up all around the U.S. So why not jump out of your comfort zone this summer? Here is a list of indoor skydiving facilities near you, and a list of outdoor Skydiving places.

7. Stargaze

Summer nights are as beautiful as any. Watching the sky and just looking at how amazing our world is, is actually is eye-opening. So grab a blanket and go somewhere with little to no lights and enjoy the night sky

8. Visit At Least Three Museums

This bucket list item is very ambiguous. There are so many different museums one can visit. In every state, there is some form of history, art and nature museum. Going to at least three museums will leave you with knowledge that I am more than positive you did not possess prior to going.

9. Watch the Sunrise and Sunset.

This one needs no explanation. Watching the sun rise and set is one of the most beautiful things the eye can see. So this should definitely be on your summer bucket list

10. Take a Road Trip to Somewhere Unexpected.

Summertime is all about spending time with the people you love the most. So, jump in your car with your friends and take a road trip to who knows where and make memories that will last a lifetime. It's summer so take some chances and be spontaneous.

People make buckets lists for all sorts of reasons. However, when you are young and the word is at your fingertips be adventurous, spontaneous, and take chances. Summer is the perfect time for that. That is why this list does not contain every single thing you should do this summer. It is just some ideas as a basis for your personal bucket list. I know I definitely want to cross off some of these off my own bucket list.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
