I have a wide arrange of games to play while I wait for class to start, while I do homework and most importantly, for when I'm avoiding people in public.
The Apple App Store always has a plethora of games to choose from and they even have a top chart where you can find which apps are most popular. I'm quite an avid gamer when it comes to mobile apps so here's (in my opinion) the top five game apps.
1. "Stack"
In this seemingly simple game, you must stack bricks on top of one another by tapping your screen. Seems simple, right? Wrong. If the block you place doesn't line up perfectly with the block you placed before it then the block gets smaller and smaller, until you miss placing the block altogether. The fact that the blocks change color to create a rainbow tower and simple gameplay make this app super addictive.
2. "Stop"
This app was introduced to me by a friend and I can't get enough of it. It requires quick and complex thinking as you battle head to head with friends or random strangers. Each round you get five random categories and a letter, and you must find something in each category that starts with that letter. Once you finish, you stop the time. The person you are playing against use the same categories and letter as you did, but they only have until you stopped the time. So you must be smart and quick in hopes of getting more correct and winning the round. It's a game that requires unique thinking and definitely keeps you on your toes.
3. "Doodle Jump"
This app is one you've probably heard of before and is definitely an oldie but goodie. I'm super late to the game, and after watching this YouTube video, I decided to download it. You play as a little creature that must jump from platform to platform on what looks to be a piece of paper while fighting monsters and avoiding falling to your death. An update to the game added a ninja costume that your character can don and a new game field. You can, however, collect coins to buy other outfits in the store. While the premise is simple it's a fun and easy game.
4. "Fun Run"
Another oldie but goodie. A few months ago I stumbled upon "Fun Run 2," and after being pretty disappointed, I decided to re-download the original. In this game, you get to play as an array of animals and race against other opponents. There are various levels to choose from and there are power-ups you can pick up throughout the game to help you. You can even add your friends and race them exclusively. It's a fun game and it's my favorite thing to do while I procrastinate doing my homework.
5. "Crossy Road"
Any '90s kid who plays this game will definitely be basking in nostalgia as this game is pretty much an endless game of "Frogger." You start off as a chicken and you must hop across busy streets and from log to log across rivers, and pick up coins until you die. If you collect 100 coins, then you can trade the coins in for a spin at the prize machine and have the chance at getting a new character or animal. There are dozens of characters to choose from, ranging from things like the grim reaper to a pooping pigeon.
