It was hard to narrow it down to just five.

The 5 Best Shows on Netflix Right Now

I typically like to think of myself as a movie/television person. I love wasting my nights away watching movies and T.V. shows, it's just what I enjoy. So Netflix has been my savior on countless occasions when I just want to lay around and watch a good show (the movies on Netflix kind of suck, tbh). I have finished an embarrassing amount of television series on Netflix, but here are my top five favorites:

5. Orange is the New Black

I was unsure about this show at first because of all the controversy it contains, but once I got past that, I really started to enjoy it. It has enough mixture of comedy and suspense that makes it so easy to binge-watch an entire season in one day. However, I don't think I have ever disliked a main character as much as I dislike Piper. Thankfully there are better characters on the show to make up for that.

4. Greek

I just want to start out by saying this show was so underrated! I absolutely loved the fact that the makers didn't portray Greek life in a bad light like most movies and shows do. I also really enjoyed how relatable it was. This is the one show I can say that I was genuinely sad when it ended.

3. Gossip Girl

This was the first series I watched on Netflix and I fell in love with it from the start. I have always been a fan of Blake Lively, and this show just made me even more obsessed with her. I love the idea of New York City and "Manhattan's elite." Chuck and Blair's relationship is every girl's dream, and Blair and Serena are serious friendship goals. After I finished watching the series, I went back and watched it again, that's how much I loved the show.

2. Grey's Anatomy

This show has made me cry more times than I would ever like to admit. I had never grown emotionally attached to fictional characters until I started watching Grey's Anatomy. Shonda Rhimes inevitably kills off everyone I love though. In the beginning it was actually very difficult to get into, but once I made myself watch the first few episodes, I was hooked.

1. One Tree Hill

As cheesy as it sounds, this show truly made me see things differently. There are so many lessons to be learned from the characters in One Tree Hill, and so many situations to relate to. It is also super funny and relatable. Just like Grey's Anatomy though, it was tough to get into at first. But once it got good, I was hooked. It is by far my favorite show I have ever watched.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
