Most people nowadays have technology at their fingertips with the help of smartphones, tablets, computers, and more! With the purchase of one of these items, a user is also opened up to the world of apps, a seemingly endless stream of games, helpful tools, and applications for pretty much anything they can think of! Creatives, in particular, can take full advantage of these apps to save money and have accessible, useful tools for their work! Here are my top five apps that I use and enjoy as a creative!
1. Autodesk SketchBook (Free)
Autodesk Sketchbook is an amazing painting and drawing app that I use an awful lot on my tablet and smartphone. It is a great app that is easy for anyone to use and get use to, and is also really compatible with either a tablet pen or your finger! Anything goes, and I love using it on the go when I don't have my drawing materials or supplies handy. The free version is good enough for me, with multiple brushes and options, but the paid optional upgrade does have some really awesome extras that would be awesome as well. Great well rounded app!
2. Photoshop Touch (Paid)
If you are a creative, more than likely you are using photoshop a lot. If you are on the go and don't have access to your desktop computer or photoshop software it can be hard to find another way to work on your projects. No fear, just use PhotoShop touch! Although the app isn't free, it is completely worth the money! If you know how photoshop works on your computer, the app will be a breeze for you and comes in handy when you are without your computer.
3. Keezy (Free)
If you are a musician, (or even if you are a music lover), you can play around on this app and create your own using sound boards already on the app or you can record your own sounds! It's another great app for when you are on the go and inspiration strikes!
4. VSCO Cam (Free)
For the creatives that need photography help or the photographer who is looking to add a little bit of pizazz to their photos, this app is a really simple way to take and edit photos. It also is a great tool to help creatives learn what makes a good photograph, while helping them take gorgeous shots!
5. ColorSchemer (Free)
If you are anything like me, you have the drawing or layout of your project down but when it comes to color you find yourself baffled. This app is here to help! You can mess around with digital color wheels to see what works, analyze color schemes on pictures you download, create palettes, and share them online! The app will help you create harmonious palettes even if you are a total beginner!
