It's a simple fact that the late '90s and early 2000s had the greatest child-oriented TV shows, hands down. It's honestly sad that the children of today don't get to grow up watching them. So, let's take a little trip down memory lane...
1. "Dragon Tales"
What a wonderful show. I don't know any kid that didn't want to hang out with Zak and Wheezie in Dragonland. Frankly, I still do.
2. "Rocket Power"
There is a 100 percent chance that Reggie was my role model for a few years as a child. Maybe she still is. All I know is the kids of today are really missing out on Tito's ancient Hawaiian sayings.
3. "The Wild Thornberrys"
OK, my mistake—Eliza Thornberry is, and always will be, my role model and idol. What I'd give to travel around the world talking to animals all day.
4. "The Big Comfy Couch"
As a little kid, I'd wake up bright and early to watch Loonette the clown and her doll, Molly, sing and dance around on an oversized couch and a clock on the floor. Now, I'm slightly horrified by it all, but that's OK.
5. "As Told by Ginger"
As creepy-looking as these characters really are, this show was sweet. Not to mention it had a bangin' theme song.
6. "Family Matters"
Come on, who doesn't love Urkel?
7. "The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius"
From Jimmy's dad's obsession with ducks and pies to Carl's obsession with llamas, this show was low-key weird and I love it.
8. "Rugrats"
Gotta love talking babies and a baby with a screwdriver in his diaper, am I right?
9. "All That"
SNL for kids!
10. "The Amanda Show"
Pre-breakdown Amanda Bynes was the best. Kids today will never get to experience her in her prime, and that's just sad.
11. "Zoey 101"
PCA was my freakin' dream school, and then Jamie Lynn Spears had to go and crush my dreams by getting pregnant and ending the damn show.
12. "Boy Meets World"
Poor kids today have "Girl Meets World," which isn't even close to being on the same level.
13. "SpongeBob SquarePants"
This one is still on today, but the new episodes can't compare to the classic early episodes of SpongeBob.
14. "8 Simple Rules"
A classic ABC Family show. That is all I have to say.
15. "Drake & Josh"
I don't even really need to explain how great this was; you definitely already know.
16. "Hey Arnold!"
A boy with a football-shaped head and a bomb-ass bedroom with a ceiling of skylights and a Russian stalker? Hell yeah.
17. "Full House"
Ah, good ole "Full House." What a family.
18. CatDog
Probably one of the weirder shows I used to watch, but who doesn't love some conjoined animals, right?
19. "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air"
Yes, this was a little before my time, but that doesn't mean it wasn't one of the best shows to hit the air ever. And who doesn't scream-sing the famous theme song?
20. "Saved by the Bell"
Another one that was a few years before me, but still oh-so-good. What I'd give to have grown up at Bayside High School.
