My Top 11 Moments During Dorm Wars 2016

It is that time of the semester for Dorm Wars again. Dorm wars is a Lee University tradition in which students living on campus engage in friendly competition to benefit charitable organizations. Dorm Wars is that time of the year we see all the dorms competing against each other through various obstacle courses. This would be my third dorm Wars at Lee University; time has really flown by. Medlin Hall (my dorm) was crowned Champion last year after B.O.B won four years straight. So,last year was really awesome for my Dorm and most especially for the BOYS AND GIRLS club. Medlin Hall came 2nd this year, however, it was really nice and fun competition.

Dorm Wars is always filled with this special type of buzz that brings the whole together. The cheers from different dorms, the chants, and the atmosphere is just incredible and wonderful to be in. The venue is filled with different and wonderful displays created by different dorms. The colors and painted faces from the Dorms creates an extraordinary and beautiful display. The introduction during Dorm Wars is always one to watch out for; from acrobatic displays to music throwbacks to dubstep dances. Dorms come together to compete for their charity organizations of thier choosing, so DORM Wars is not just a competition, it is one that fights for a cause in Cleveland. Lee University uses DORM WARS to support and help charities in Cleveland, promoting community.

Dorm Wars brings the whole school together, which usually have awesome moments created. I took my camera with me and I decided to share my top 11 favorite moments I captured during the event.

1) Dr. Tagayuna wonderfully crossing over the bar!

2) The girl in the rabbit costume involved in the cart race!

3) Two students running in solidarity, what uniformity!

4) The Acrobatic and beautiful display from a student in Bowdle/O'Bannon.

5) The back wave from the men of medlin!

6) The showmanship from the Guys of Brinsfield Row

7) The agility!

8) Victory so near and sweet.

9) The beautiful display of flags promoting diversity from the Girls of SNORA

10) The energy and passion after B.O.B's awesome victory!

11) The acrobatic jump and selfie in the air!

This year's Dorm Wars was indeed a very passion filled and beautiful one, the whole school coming together to each compete for a cause. Lee University never stops giving back and that is one of the reasons, I love my school. Congratulations to Sharp Davis and Bowdle/O'Bannon.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
