The trends that arose in the early 2000s are like none ever seen before. Looking back on these years it's hard not to get a little nostalgic. From the rise of punk-rock, to the Croc obsession, the early 2000s paved the way to our modern day with some cringe-worthy trends. Here are just a few that will have you shaking your head.
1. Hollister and Abercrombie Graphic Tees
If you didn't own one of these you were doing something wrong. Pair these with a jean skirt and some Old Navy flip flops and you've got the ultimate early 2000s outfit.
2. Streaky Highlights
Who could forget this trend? I don't know why it was so popular to have five different hair colors, but I think we can all appreciate the ambition.
3. Heelys
Heelys were one of the greatest inventions of the 21st century. How could one not love shoes that double as roller skates? You never had to pick between comfort and fun, both were now possible due to these sweet new kicks! My only question for these is why aren't they still socially acceptable to wear?

These were so comfortable, yet so flattering. All the perks of high heels without the pain. In all honesty though, these should have never been in style.

We've all been there. Taking your Claire's makeup kit and caking on as much of that blue eye shadow as you could made you feel like a total rock-star.
7. Spiked Belts
For those of you who were on the more edgy side this is a very familiar sight. I don't think any other accessory could match this one's level of angst. This belt screams "It's not just a phase," and represents an entire population of rebellious teens.
8. Tankini's
If that picture doesn't describe your fifth grade summers I almost feel bad for you. Tankini's were the first step in to womanhood. It was only a matter of time before your mom would let you trade it in for your first bikini!
9.Tanktop Layering
Adding a white tank top underneath a colored one added a whole new dimension to your outfit. With this technique the outfit possibilities were endless.
