Look at your own life!! Can you say that you are content when you are alone in your room doing homework or all by yourself driving to school or work?

nowadays it seems that everyone is so dependent on someone else to bring them happiness. Girls with their boyfriends or guys with their girlfriends. I feel like everyone is afraid of being alone with just their selves. But why? Think about why YOU are scared to be alone. Is it because you are unhappy, sad, or lonely? Will old memories sneak up on you? Do you just like to keep busy to avoid facing your problems or fears?

Whatever it is, I HAVE A SOLUTION!!

SO, happiness is being content, right? Honestly, I was never more content with my life until now, and I am NOT content because of a boy. I am NOT content because of my grades in college. I am NOT content because of my appearance. I AM content because I found God in everything life has to offer, even the little things! I found Him in the sunshine, in the dandelions, in little old people’s stories, in reading the Bible, in the laughter that corny jokes bring me, in hearing my favorite song come on the radio, and I even found Him in my failures. Those things bring me happiness because I know God put them here for me to laugh and smile about. However, I do not NEED these things to be happy and content. I only NEED God. (Still, I am VERY imperfect and sometimes I want, want, want things that I do not need. Though, I am trying to change that about myself, so we are working together!!) We must remember that the only person that we should ever depend on for our happiness is God!!

True happiness comes from knowing God!! Once you truly know Him and let him into your lives, things will change. You will be able to move mountains when you come to know the Lord. You will be able to look at yourself in the mirror and love the person you see staring back at you. You will be able to enjoy being alone with Him, and you might even learn new things about yourself. Although, we are never truly alone!! God never sleeps, and He is always one prayer away. God is everlasting, and He will never leave our side.

I am blessed with loving and caring people in my life, and I am sure that many of you are too. I come from a silly, loving family, I have 7 extremely amazing girlfriends, a sweet boyfriend, and many other people who bring joy into my life. I am SO grateful that I have these people who add so much love and laughter into my life. However, I have learned not to invest my happiness into people or objects, because they can be gone in an instant. Someone once told me this, “Be joyful for no reason, because if you have a reason it can always be taken away from you.” God is everlasting, and when we lose someone or something; He remains! God gives us the ability to be joyful for no reason, except merely existing. So, love, laugh, and care for your friends and family, but remember to always let yourself and the Lord be responsible for your own happiness.

Happiness is all about letting go of all the things that bring negativity into your life. It is about letting God into your life, even if it seems that nothing can help the way you feel at this particular moment. Your happiness is in YOUR hands, not anyone else’s! You can either choose to let God work His magic or continue to live without seeing His beauty and feeling His peace.

Think deeply about when you feel most content. What makes you smile or laugh the most? Now take that happiness and multiply it times a billion, because that’s what it feels like to let God be in control of your happiness. That is how it feels to know God.

Yep, that’s right!! If puppies and grandma’s cookies make you happy, imagine yourself in a room filled with puppies and cookies. Endless joy, am I right? THAT IS WHAT IT IS LIKE TO KNOW GOD!!! Happiness and laughter all the time. Plus, God is eternal so that feeling never goes away!! Friends and family may cause your laughter, but God is the reason you are able to laugh. Let Him do His thing, give Him a chance to make YOU happy. That’s all He wants!!

Now is your time to take matters into your own hands. Take your happiness and invest it in the Lord!! Beautiful things will happen. You will see God more and more in your everyday life, you will feel His presence, and you will find yourself smiling about nothing just because you are happy. True happiness is being content even when you have nothing but God and yourself. Submit yourselves to the Lord for He is everlasting, and with Him, you will NEVER have to fear being alone.

NEVER LET ANYONE DEFINE WHO YOU ARE IN LIFE OR CONTROL THE HAPPINESS YOU FEEL!!

You are all so beautiful, you all have potential, and you all have worth. Do not let anyone tell you differently, ever!!

I know very well that, as a girl, all you want to feel is accepted. You want to blend in, and you want people to notice you. You think that your grades, friends, boyfriends, and the makeup or clothes you wear define you!! You think that getting drunk and forgetting you are sad for a few hours will help kill the pain you feel or help you to blend in. BUT, you are so far off!! None of these things define you or your self-worth, only you can do that! Only you and God can define your happiness and your worth!! So, now is the time for you to change the way you think. That’s right, change the silly teenage girl mindset, and I promise you will not regret it. It may be the best thing you ever decide to do because I know that it defiantly changed my life for the better. Do not let anyone control your happiness, because you are in control of that. Put your happiness in God’s hands, and you will not be disappointed!!

On another note, different is good. My blog motto is: be different, be true, & be you. So, be yourself and let others be themselves. It is very important not to judge the way others express themselves, even though we have all been guilty of it at some point or another. Let this be the time that we stop hating on everyone and start loving everyone the way God loves us. We must forget about the way people look and focus on what is on the inside. When looking back, no one is going to remember how you dressed or what kind of makeup you wore, but they will remember how you acted. So treat everyone with kindness and care, and accept the person that they are. I am especially speaking to you girls, because I know how we girls can be. However, we should strive to build each other up instead of tear each other down all the time. This week, give someone a smile or a little compliment when you see them. I promise a smile and a few words go a long way!!

SO, make it your goal this week to build each other up, hold back on things that you shouldn’t say, and put your happiness in the Beholder’s hands (not anyone else’s)!!!
