To The Person Who Doesn't Not Know Their Self Worth
Marti Hill

To the person over there crying in the mirror. To the person who thinks to themselves and wonders, "How would the world be if i was not born?" This is to the people who do not know their self worth. Everyone is so quick to beat themselves down. They are unable to push themselves to feel truly happy.

We all go through times in our life where we hit low points that we don't know how to get out. We dig ourselves so deep in thought and tell ourselves that we are nothing in this world, that our lives are going nowhere, and worst of all, that we are failures. That hole is not easy to come out of. Every day is a battle to make today a good day.

Self worth is something that takes a long time for many people to realize, its not easy. Many people who lack self worth tends to settle for less, and put thier happiness after others. It's typical that these people often feel unhappy, and accept that this is how our lives are going to be forever. No one should feel that this is normal. Your life has meaning.

We are all brought to this world to fulfill a purpose on that path that we call life. No one should feel as if their life doesn't have meaning, Because it does. You are worth experiencing all the amazing things that are going to happen in a life time! In your lifetime you will do many great things. From graduating college, to nailing that your dream job, to buying your first house, getting married, and starting a family. All of these great things and more will come to you.

Trust me, I know its hard. It's hard to wake up every morning and have all the overwhelmingly negative feelings. But one day, they will go away, and when they do here is are some words of wisdom. YOU ARE WORTH IT! Never let anyone tell you differently! You are worthy and you should always know that. Never settle for less than what you're worth. You're that beautiful girl who just landed the job of her dreams! You're that handsome guy who made it to the major leagues in football! Also, never settle for how people treat you. You have no one to please but yourself. Take it from someone who doesn't take her self worth seriously. I often feel the need to please everyone in my life, just so they don't walk out. I even sometimes feel I am going to be alone forever.

I AM WORTH IT, YOU ARE WORTH IT!! Whoever is reading this, yeah i'm talking to you! Please know that you are an amazing person, who impacts so many people without even realizing it. Everyday you have a purpose! You are strong! You can take on the world! Never give up on yourself, and never settle for less! Walk confidently in this world with your head held high. Take a deep breath and know that we are all walking with you.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
