To my friends for the next four years...
We may have come from different High Schools, even different parts of the world, but we all came to share our love for one commonplace: our college. I'm thankful for the shared thought process that came with dismissing other acceptances, and finally deciding upon this school; I'm grateful for the bonds we'll form in such a welcoming environment. The excitement that comes with starting this next chapter of our lives together, is insurmountable.
I can't wait to laugh so hard my diaphragm will ache, and spit out words that resemble a seal's mating call. I'm looking forward to the endless study sessions and taking turns ripping each others' hair out. The constant sleepovers to discuss what that one girl in our Chemistry class did to the other, or to discuss that cute boy in our English class. The endless days scouring over food as if we're famished, and the endless days stuffing our faces even when we're full. All night ragers that I'll have to leave early for my curfew, and the concerts we'll attend, only to result in dancing like no one's watching. The nights spent crying and realizing we're not wearing waterproof mascara. The designer bags that will form under our eyes. Forcing each other to go to the school gym, texting each other to coordinate outfits. The naps between classes, where we'll use our backpacks as pillows, the lunch breaks off campus. The pep rallies, with all of us adorning our school colors with pride. Graduation day where we throw our caps into the air, and look at each other with tears in our eyes. I'm looking forward to enduring all of the moments with you and making memories to fill countless scrapbooks.
All of the changes we'll see happening around us, all of the ins and outs of college, we'll experience together. Every obstacle that comes our way, we'll have an army behind us to help conquer it. We'll support each others' academics, we won't let each other cry alone. We'll laugh at each others' jokes, even if they're not funny. We'll emotionally feel every heartbreak. We'll support each others' hobbies and interests, and even become intrigued by them. We'll encourage each other to be true to ourselves, we'll endure every new experience together. We'll never be alone, or feel alone. We'll have each others' backs.
College is definitely something to be excited about but it can also be frightening, and I'm lucky to have you all by my side to make the transition much easier. To the next four years...
